So nicknames like Pepsi and Rootbeer were created because of social media?

You just can't stand the nickname Batgirl because you own that watch and it isn't masculine enough for your taste or something like that. Sounds like sexism…

I know. How dare I speak up and not just agree with your opinions. I noticed you also didn’t call out the moderators that mirror my opinion on this topic. Regardless, thank you for your snarky sentiments towards the 126810BLNR. Hang in there as there is bound to be a real watch topic thread coming soon.. (God I sure hope so).

I think this topic has reached its end. I am guessing Peter will soon lock this one up if it keeps progressing down hill any further.

Mystro, I’m not here to argue with you.
No harm intended, we might have a different opinion on some subjects, that’s all.

I would be ok with a smaller GMT being called Batgirl, a female-oriented version perhaps, but that's nonsense to change the nickname of a watch just because of the new bracelet.
Nobody called the Pepsi(s) on Jubilee "Pepsi Light" or "Pepsi Max" or "Pepsi Cherry Vanilla"...

Im not a fan of nicknames but it only makes sense that since Oyster is the Batman, that Jubilee is the Bruce Wayne.

Batgirl is a great looking watch. A little bit too shiny for me. But some people prefer to shine!

I prefer the black bezel personally.

Batgirl isn’t any sillier or less appropriate of a nickname than Batman

So "batgirl" makes it sound like it's a women's watch? Hence the problem?

Well honestly, It doesn't bother me. I think Batgirl is a fun nickname.

I don't own either reference but I think it looks great with both bracelets.

Love the 70HR power reserve on this beauty. Eat your heart out Batman owners! I love the fact that I can take this watch off for the weekend to wear my Explorer 214670 and on Monday it’s still running when I put it on to go back to work. Can your 116710BLNR do that?

Firstly-I LOVE the brushed steel Oyster bracelet on my ceramic Submariner.

I really like it with polished center links on my other precious metal bracelet Rolexes.

A Batman with polished center links already tells me that it isn't an outdoorsman watch, like my others. FOR ME, not you. Everyone has their own uses and tastes. My polished center links scream desk queen or social wear to me. Maybe not to you.

However, my personal preference on the GMT watches is the jubilee bracelet. Yes, it is a tool watch, The tool that I wear while flying on a plane in sport coat to meetings (and pilot wearing a suit uniform) where I change to a suit for the meeting. The same watch works appropriately for my entire trip. I'm not diving, swimming or driving my boat. Maybe spreading suntan lotion at the hotel pool. Maybe.

My Submariner won't look the same. Would work? Yes, Would it be better than my Batman (Batgirl LOL) on a jubilee? Not for me. I'm not a checked bag guy nor a separate watch bag guy. I wear what's on my wrist and choose so all occaisions are appropriate venues for the choice. Again, everyone is different and all preferences and travel needs are equally valid.

I get why Rolex chose to move the GMTs to Jubilee bracelets. Its the same reason that Rolex used polished center links for the GMTs on Oyster bracelets and brushed links on Submariners and the true outdoor tool watches. My opinion only

Well said

A larger group of long time WIS, and enthusiast won’t play into the nickname game and push back against these snowflakes that live to play these social media toxic games on other open message boards.

It’s just another indication of the influx of snowflakes and their snarky way of trolling anything they don’t like. It’s really bullying in a cowardly way if you just don’t “play along”.
It’s taking the forum in a completely different direction in about 3 short years. They move into collecting Rolex watches from Kangal hats, sneakers, or whatever else they were into before discovering Rolex watches.

Mystro, what lenses are you using to shoot your close-up shots? I’m using 100mm macro and I feel the shots come out too tight. Especially the wrist shots. Thanks in advance.

Some great pics in this thread, I think that the BLNR jubilee is one of the most stunning watches in the current professional line up. The new movement and the fact that the jubilee has limited availability among professional/tool watches makes this incarnation a winner IMO.

Beautiful shots, that Batgirl is gorgeous.

You seem to also have a good sense of style too.

Don't hate on the batman though, it's also a nice watch.

Most times it’s just my Galaxy Note 8 with good lighting. I on occasion use my big cameras for some serious shoots but lately most all my recent pics are from my Note 8.

These are just the Note 8. I use to do pro shots for a strap company for Panerai watches. That was for more catalog and lifestyle photos for the catalog.

FYI: Not being a deva signing all my forum pics but years ago many of my pics were ripped off by scumbags using them to sell their own watches on EBay and other places all over the world. It wasn’t until some forum friend informed me of this when they started to see them and knew they were my watches.

Thank you for sharing Mystro. Those are very nice shots considering they are from a phone camera.

Batman and Batgirl are just the beginning. Looking forward to further blue-black model releases and I've already named them:

34mm GMT Blue/Black Bat-Boy

GMT with reversible face that can show six time zones (still only two simultaneously) - Bat-Bi

Ladies Datejust 26mm with new blue ceramic bezel and onyx dial. Bat-Baby (predicted for Baselworld 2021)

They can call it whatever they want, in my opinion. I don't mind at all. Nicknames could actually help sales to non watch enthusiasts that have no idea or care about letters and numbers in reference to any watch. Of course, if (in this case), was readily available to anyone walking into any Rolex AD with the means and want to buy it at retail on the spot.
