Acceptable accuracy

Hello, I suspect this is a well worn subject so apologies in advance but I’m a novice regarding this issue. I have a Rolex Perpetual Super Precision from the early 1950s. It’s currently running at +8s per day and I’m wondering whether that is considered reasonable accuracy for its age. Last serviced in 2013 when it was bought for me. Thanks for the help.

That accuracy is certainly acceptable. You mentioned being a novice so here is some material to read on the COSC - the Swiss org that measures accuracy: https://www.cosc.swiss/en/quality/precision

That helps put accuracy in perspective.

As for your measurements, are you noting variance over a period of days - perhaps in different positions when it rests overnight? The standards are actually an observed average over many days versus a snapshot.

Thanks for the info. In fairness this is only three days data. I’ve rarely worn the watch except when going out to dinner but now that I’m having to isolate at home I’ve decided to wear it each day and keep it running.
