16520 Inverted 6 - N vs. E
I'm thinking of getting me a 16520.
I nailed down the offers to two specific watches (both coming as full sets): - E95XX; inverted six, white dial (unpolished) - N43xx; invented six; white dial (also seems not being polished and bezel is in better condition) The E series costs € 1k more and comes with a bezel which is in better shape, i.e. looks overall a bit better. What watch you'd recommend to go for? |

As I said, pretty comparable except for the bezel. So my question is more in regard to the series. Whether E series is more collectible or rare?

Yes, all bezels are legit and match series numbers. Just the E series has more scratches and flaws.

Photos help a great ton. Some eagle eye'd gents on this section will catch things you may not have noticed. I would go with the one in better condition. Confused in this case which has the better bezel as you mentioned the N serial has a better bezel, and later said the E serial has a bezel in better shape. |

Always go with condition on a similar model. You’ve been asked for pics and should provide them if you really want help.

Here some pictures:
- N43xx; inverted six; white dial (also seems not being polished and bezel is in better condition) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-NK...ew?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ltlhQq3GnE0vckgokXvJ1iH4Kcq5h3Sd/view?usp=sharing - E95XX; inverted six, white dial (unpolished) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Evn...ew?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XIw...ew?usp=sharing |

Is there also a consistent view till what N series the inverted 6 dial was used?
On HQ Milton I can only find N1X-N3X with inverted dials; N4X plus come with normal 6 dials. The watch I'm offered though is a N439xx and has an inverted dial, hence I'm a bit confused. Thanks |

As for your broader question, I'd lean toward an "inverted 6" dial, assuming everything else is equal, even if I had to pay a little more. It's a quirky little detail that makes it more interesting. Also, I'd probably stay away from any N serial 16520 without an "inverted 6" dial. Most likely it's not an original dial in the watch, although like most things Rolex, sometimes there are anomalies that don't fit into our little charts. Still, there would always be a question about the dial, since most collectors' data suggests all N serial Daytonas came with "inverted 6" dials. |

Here’s a link to a chart I found online that may be helpful in your decision:

Look at the spacing in the words "Units Per Hour." This link should help. It breaks down all of the differences in the bezels: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/vint...as-t17026.html |

Many thanks - vintage Rolex really seems a science in its own right...
I think, I'll go for the N series since all my research (with forum's support) indicates it's a legit piece. |

Do they come with the same bracelets? I choose the N for the un-polished center link.
Can you put them on a timegrapher? |
