Something I'm appreciating more and more about Rolex

It's the comfort and fit, especially for a guy with skinny wrists like me (6.3 inches). I'm happy their "core" pieces have kind of stayed in that 36-40mm zone, and coupled with good bracelet design, I feel like basically every Rolex I've ever worn or tried on has been very comfortable.

I've kind of taken that for granted, expecting that from all watches, and I've been doing a lot of watch shopping lately and realized that's far from the case, even for watches around 40mm that I would "expect" to fit my wrist.

You would love Grand Seiko based on statements made.

I totally agree. I have a mid 1990s DayDate, early 2000s DateJust, a new GMT and they all fit perfectly. Not so much with a new Sub I tried on. It was disappointing as the AMEX card was ready for action.

It's funny you should say that. I wear a 16570, which is often considered one of the more comfortable professional models, yet it still feels a little heavy, and the back protrudes more than my first generation Omega Aqua Terra 2500. That thing is thin, light and feels like silk. I do still notice a big difference between my 16570 and my 16610, let alone the newer, heavier models.

I've been thinking about this lately, especially as I've been lusting after a Panerai Luminor. I struggle to imagine a better fit than my 214270.

In my experience, most Rolex fit like a glove and wear like a dream

I agree, Rolex stayed true to the "standard" sport watch size and fit while other brands went big. I'm thankful for that, too, as I have a 6.5" wrist.

Interesting gents. I recall the few GS I tried at the NY boutique to fit a bit tall. Sort of like my SDc.

Don't get me wrong, overall the finishing on dial and hands was whoa...above patek that cost 5x as much imho. But the cases seemed unusually thick.

6.5 inch wrist here too and couldn't go any bigger.

Grand Seiko does have amazing fits indeed. Some of them like the anti-magnetic Milgauss equivalent are super thick. But some of the normal Hi beats are a good size.
