Does this look ok or is it too big?
I recently acquired this 214270 Mk2 and absolutely love it. It's only 39mm, but seems to appear larger than I'm used to (prior watches were Sub or Daytona) due to the dial size. Does it look too big on my wrist or does it look ok?
For the pics, I tried to take them with the camera farther away than normal, since close up wrist shots always seem to skew the perspective. |

Nope, looks good.
Only way I'd go smaller is if you can find an original 1016. |

You probably have a full sleeve tattoo covering 5% of your body surface area and you're worried about a 39mm watch ?

You have a beautiful watch, however I always thought Rolex made a mistake to make the Explorer I into a 39mm. 36 was the perfect size. The whole point of the Explorer was to be light and un-intrusive.

Looks perfect. I think 39 is the new 36. I think the reason it looks a little big is the face is actually quite large and the bezel is smaller (as compared to the professional bezel models).
My new GMT has the opposite problem; the face seemed small to me at first because the bezel is so big/bold. |

Yes the Explorer 39 does wear larger because of the dial size... but that looks perfect on you.
