My OP 114300 - fits me perfectly.

A picture I took recently and a personal story that I really wanted to share!

I’ve always liked watches, but only in the last three or four years have I begun to get into the hobby more deeply. The watch on the left is a titanium (always liked the metal) quartz Skagen I picked up in 2004/5; it was about £120 which was a lot of money to me at the time, but I’d been doing a lot of overtime so decided to get myself something. It was my constant daily wearer for well over ten years, going everywhere and doing everything. I didn't think about scratches for the most part, though the ones across the crystal (from being jostled into a wall) did annoy me immensely!

As time went on, I learned more about watches, got into automatics, and eventually decided to treat myself to a Rolex for my 40th birthday. I'd seen a specific model I thought suited me, and proudly purchased it on the actual day last year. It was funny to look at it and realise how much in terms of style it shared with that old Skagen. Time marched on, spending power increased, but my style…still familiar ;)

(that said, while the Rolex will get plenty of daily wear, I'm aiming to keep it in rather better condition!)

Great looking choice. The simple is what I always come back to and this one just gets the job done with class.

Great photo and story. That Rolex is a stunner. I love the little blue dots on the Rhodium dial.
Just try to avoid being jostled into a wall and you should be grand for many years to come.

I went to my AD for an Explorer, but came home with the 114300 in dark rhodium. No regrets. Enjoy yours!
