Big Pilot 5002 Date Frame
Does anyone have a perspective on the gold vs. non-gold date frame on the Big Pilot 5002. Is one more desirable than the other? If so, why?
From the little info I can find it sounds like the early models have the gold date frame. Im not sure why or why they stopped making it with the gold frame. Any info is appreciated. |

I don’t think one is more desirable than the other. The most desirable is the transitional 5002 with the upgraded movement (from the 5011 to the 51110) since maybe 250 are in the world. Next, you get into the original fish crown, or the probus crown debate. The fish crown was original and many fish crowns were replaced on the 5002 due to threading and water retention issues with the probus.
