I'll never buy another antique clock again!

Yeah right

PS, the wind-up on top of my radio has been in my family since 1927, the radio since 1930.

PPPSSSPSPSS A BIG shout out to Trace (therolexkingoflv). When he heard I collect Telechron clocks, he sent me the 1933 wall model, a very kind gift. Thank you Trace!

Great picture. That radio has covered some major world historical events since it was first switched on in 1930.

Look at the positives. After 4 years the dust doesn’t get any worse.

You're not turning into some kind of Gotham City Super-Villain, are you?

The Clock King? Maybe the Time Bandit?

Bet you have some 'splainin' to do when you drag all those women home from bars and they see all these clocks.

"and wait til I show you all the unfinished ones I have in the basement" as they go running and screaming out the door.

I adore mantel and grandfather clocks. I’ve had them in past and gave them to family.i doubt they’ll take care of them as I did... but I now have a seiko quartz clock I love. It’s old, too, around 30 years old. The chime ps sound real, but I’ve turned them off. I miss having a nice clock, but I don’t miss the maintenance or winding. It takes patience and repairs...

Ahhh.. Sorry, don't know that reference, I used to watch that show a lot back in the 70s! Always good for a laugh.

That's nice looking, I guess I'm a purist and am anti-quartz, but clocks are a personal preference, just like watches whatever you like go enjoy!

Oh, and Seiko makes some exceptional movements, can't go wrong with their watches OR clocks!

I really don’t like quartz clocks. I never wear quartz watches. That seiko clock cost around 300$ when we bought it, main,y because the wood veneer is so nice and we can choose between two chimes. My old mantel clock once hurt my thumb during winding... it snapped a spring and the turning key snapped back. I bled for 30 minutes and was freaked out. Once the bleeding stopped I was fine but wow it was bad. The repair place said the spring snapped in two places .
