Where to buy in Toronto area...

... the scarcity is in full swing apparently.

Yesterday I asked to see a TT Daytona... as the SA was opening the cabinet another SA swooped in and grabbed it for another customer.

The only Sub they had was a solid gold. No wait list - I was told to just keep visiting the store.

It’s a very difficult market to buy in right now. 3-4 years ago Toronto was an absolute gold mine for Rolex and now it’s turned into the UK.

I’ve spent 6 figures at Raffi and I get about half my calls returned lol

Relationships help...

Yesterday I picked up a Hulk In Toronto. I waited about 3-4 months. I bought my wife a YG datejust (ladies) at XMAS and a Platona at a different dealer...

I think the best thing to do now is not to buy any Rolex or support the ADs. Don't support the Greys either. Keep your money, or look into other great brands like Omega, Zenith, Blancpain or JLC.

Wait for a few years and let the craze die down. ADs will start begging for your business. Phone calls will start coming in.

Imagine if the majority WIS community starts following this. We can collectively solve the Rolex "shortage" problem.

If you’re looking specifically for a TT Daytona, I’d pick the AD of your choice, find a SA you like working with and let them know that you want the watch. My guess is they can turn one up sooner than you think.

Good luck.

It’s not the WIS community that’s driving demand for hot Rolexes. I suspect most are just casually into watches/fashion and want the trendiest models, and may have been made aware of them by their WIS friend or social media outlets.

Yeah I don't think it's the WIS community either; millions of watches sold - not even 10% of those would be collectors/enthusiasts/into the hobby of 'watches'.
The average Joe/Jane wants a Rolex because it is a Rolex - horology sounds like a slur word they used in high school.

This is my strategy. We actually found a SA at Raffi's we quite like. Hopefully she will keep us in mind when something shows up at the store.

PM me. I’ll pass the contact on... but the old rules of customer service apply here. Treat the SA as you would treat family.

RDV is the most fair dealer. They -almost- put everything on display that comes in. First come first serve. Check them out on Thursdays or Fridays.

In hindsight I should have jumped all over the Daytona the second I saw it. I'm now thinking that I may never again walk into a store and see a TT Daytona in the display case.

classical sign and symptoms of fear of missing out.

Another + from me. That's where I bought my DJ41 and they were pleasant to deal with. I think I may have had the same female SA.
