Help - I need Boston ideas!

Hello TRF-ers,

I'm going to be in Boston on 2/14 - 2/15 and am looking for suggestions on things to do. My evenings are already booked, but I'm attending a conference downtown, and I will have some time during the day (although I won't know when or how much until I get there and work out the conf schedule). Looking for ideas of things to do/see in Boston that won't take more than an hour or so. I'll be on foot and don't mind walking, but I can take a Lyft if it's something really cool and more than walking distance.

Thanks!

Well first I would visit the European Watch Company. Then see the sites.

Walk around Fanuel hall or Copley or walk up and down newbury street. Or the Boston gardens.

I second Trillium Brewery. Spent 3 days in Boston this time last year for Eric Church concerts and decided to stay on Sunday to watch the Super Bowl. Went to Trillium on Sunday afternoon, great spot and great beer. Lots of places to walk around and places to eat and drink

I’d recommend trying to check out the Elizabeth Stewart Gardner museum. It’s a gorgeous small museum with an interesting history and a nice collection (imho). They still have the empty frames displayed from the famous theft. Two pics of the interior courtyard from my last visit

Eric Church is the best live act going in my opinion. Not to be missed.

Neptune Oyster bar, lunch or dinner, often a wait, but by yourself at the bar seems to work out. I love the Museum of Fine Arts, also has decent food, MIT book store in Cambridge is simply brilliant for interesting unusual books. The Prudential Center for some mall activity, watches and Eataly for anytime dinning.

Boston is a nice city. I enjoyed the Freedom trail, and the Elizabeth Stewart Garden Museum. And I wore my Yankee cap.

Museum of Fine Arts is nice if you're into that stuff. If you'll a baseball fan, they usually run Fenway Park tours year round and it's pretty neat.

I suggest dining at Mistral and/or Lavoile. Copley and Newbury St are a must; several nice watch shops on Newbury. Also, a Rolex AD on Boyleston St named Lux Bond & Green.

This. Neptune has hands down the best lobster roll anywhere. Get it warm.
Worth the wait.

definitely walk up (or down) newbury street and check out the public garden at its terminus (newbury's cross streets are in alphabetical order from arlington at the public garden to mass ave at the other end so you always know where you are).

eat seafood (any local worth their salt will tell you the chowder at legal seafood IS actually extraordinarily good even though it's a chain).

As some have said...Newbury Street/ Back Bay area.

Also Seaport District, Harvard Square.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

North End for Italian
Neptune Oyster--best lobster roll ( get there early for dinner like 5pm if you don't want to wait too long)

Freedom Trail Walk if you're into history
Duck Boat as an alternative if you don't want to walk.

Good luck
