Omega SMP..... identifying age

I bought my Omega SMP about 25 years ago without papers..... how would I determine the year it was produced?

There are various "Omega production dates" charts on the internet, I checked many Seamasters and most of these charts is not accurate, data in charts does not match to the dates on Omega cards. (perhaps those charts accurate for Moonwatch, I do not know).

Imo, the easiest way to check is ask Omega directly.
Create a free account on omegawatches(dot)com, then use 'contact us' / "request for customer service" and tell them watch serial number and reference number.
Ask them about the production date.
They will reply, it may take few days but they will reply.
