Cartier Ballon Bleu as daily driver?

Dear friends! What do You think about this watch? Any owners here? Have tried the most interesting (for me) Cartier watches. Thinking between these two: Ballon Bleu Rose Gold Roman Numbers 42 and Ronde Louis Rose Gold 36. What do You think? Many thanks.

My wife has a Ballon Bleu, so I can’t help but think it’s a watch for women. Ok, just insulted 75% of the population.(Women and men with a Ballon Bleu).I like the first watch better. Also like the Santos and Santos-Dumont.

My mother had one, too feminine for me with that crystal effect.

I've tried the Balon Bleu on a few times and can't help but think it looks like a female's watch my wrist. Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful watch but I think there are better options out there, even within the Cartier range. Have you looked at their "Drive" collection which, although very similar aesthetically, just looks that much more refined IMO.

One word of advice with Cartier is to look at the secondary market if you're not too fussy/picky as I've noticed Cartier loses a lot of it's value right off the bat. You might be better off having someone else take the depreciation hit...

I looked at it but ended up going with the Cartier Drive moon phase.

Personally, I love it. It's so distinctive, and the 42mm wears smaller than you'd think.

I prefer the Tank and/or Santos. Especially the medium sized Santos with no date - if I was in the market for a Cartier, that would be my pick.

My wife’s daily is her Cartier BB. I’ve tried to get her to like Rolex but she’s not interested.

My wife has a 36mm Balon Bleu just like Kate Middleton. She wants the 42mm. Great watch, but I think you see it more on women.

Cartier makes some great looking watches but from my experience with a Roadster it was in for service several times and I took a more than 50% hit when I sold it. I'd pass.

I'd pick a Rolex. Maybe a nice Cellini.

Just Bieber has a few of those Balon Bleu watches, but even so, I don’t care for them. Plus, unless you are getting 60% off retail, you will lose your shirt buying one if you ever need to unload it.

Very sexist comments about the watch.

It’s stunning, classy and very elegant!

Go for it.

Thanks very much for Your suggestions and opinion.
I wear suits 99%. Now wearing Rolex OP39 black everyday and my previous watch - SS DJ36.
But I always wanted Cartier. A fan of the brand, but I never had their watch. Really like them visually, art deco style, roman numbers. I would like something from a TwoTone interpretation. But I’m ready to consider steel versions, I would like to understand the arguments for steel versions.
I have tried many Cartier models, didn't find Drive, Santos, Calibre, Tank interesting for me.
On the first place - Ballon Bleu, on the second - Ronde, third - Cle.
