Love the Polar. Black outline to the hour plots and hands. Big, clean dial. So easy to read. Brushed surfaces. Useful complications.

That Polar dial is something else. Especially the 42 explorer II more than the 40.

While I owned my 16570 the closest it ever came to looking "pretty" was when I but it on a Jubilee bracelet. To me this watch is the most purely functional watch that Rolex makes. Most of it is brushed metal, not a lot of shiny surfaces to reflect and catch the eye. No subtle colors or feminine features. It's beauty is in its strict, almost shaker like attention to functionality!!!

It is the watch that made me stray from my one and only DJ after 25 years. Downhill from there.

That's easy...Very.

The answer I've been searching for, and never finding however, is which one is better looking, the white or the black?

Tough call but having owned both, my vote goes to the polar. I love that the hour markers on the polar are completely unique within the sports lineup on the white dial version. The black dial white gold surrounds blend in with the tritium / luminova fill whereas the black painted surrounds on the polar create an outline effect. It’s like the inversion of the typical Rolex dial. Also the luminous fill is the same color as the dial which creates a nice effect as well.

Both are great. No wrong answers.

It was my first Rolex too. Still gets a lot of wrist time. Love the Polar.

New is veryyy cool. Pretty is prob not the word I’d use. The older red handed black is one of my favorite references out there.

I find my 16570 to be refined rather than pretty.

I’m sorry but I don’t find it pretty at all!
I owned one in 2017 as it was the only Rolex in stock at my local AD and was so keen to have a Rolex I stupidity bought it.
Sold it after a few weeks, I don’t think it’s got anything going for it all, so boring to look at and easily the worst Rolex in the whole range in my opinion.
I know many will disagree but we all have different views.

Aggressive, but to each their own!

I have to disagree 100%

Cheers

Own the 5 digit polar and love it. With the limited white dial sports, it's uniquely great.

This dial, though.
Simple. Elegant. Refined. Sharp.
Gotta love it!

I love my polar 216570.

It was my first Rolex and one that I swooned over for several years before buying.

I’ve owned both models in black and polar. Sold them over the years but now looking to acquire my favourite again - 16570 polar, post tritium (lume lover).
