Advice on a First Panerai

Im quite a newbie just joined the forum I own a few fine watches a hublot and 2 rolex's but I am enamoured by the pure simple elegance of the luminor and I have to have one so it will be a preowned watch I have about 4-5K to spend can you experienced folk make any recomendation on age and model number I should be in search of.

First choose between Radiomir or Luminor ? With or without crown-guard ?

111 is a great reference and yes - you can get a nice one for $5K.

111, 112, 005, 000, 183, 210 are all great Panerais. The 111 was my first and I foolishly sold it for under $5k. So, YES, they ca be had for under $5k.

A nice beginner Pam watch would be a 111 or 112 (if you do not like the ticking seconds at 9).

111 or 112 are good choices.
312 if you want automatic.
305 or 389 if you want submersible big size 47mm.

Thank you for the advice I would prefer an automatic so it may tough finding a 312 for 5K. I assume they must sell for more than a manual.

Thanks all
Ed

If you want an auto, you will probably find a 104 or 164 for less than a 312.

104 or 164 don't look as nice as the 312, IMHO...

IMO part of the charm of the 111 is flipping the crown protector and hand winding the watch.
