Watch: me go broke!
New Watch, Planet Ocean (not yet, research phase)

My primary wearer is a SubC, I'm looking to add a watch that has a rubber strap, and after going through a bunch of brands (IWC, Panerai, Breitling), I think I've come to the conclusion that I want an Omega.

The Planet Ocean is my leading contender and there are some decent deals out there.

I'm torn between the 43.5 & 45.5 as well as chronograph/no chronograph. The watch won't be daily, maybe 1-2x a week, and used for beach/pool/vacation as well.

I like these in no particular order:

https://www.omegawatches.com/watches...3232465101005/

https://www.omegawatches.com/watches...1532442101001/

https://www.omegawatches.com/watches...1533442101001/

https://www.omegawatches.com/watches...1532465101001/

I think the first one listed is an older model and on the older 9300 movement? I've been doing as much reading as I can, but any Omega experts want to educate me or weigh in with an opinion, it would be much appreciated!

Cheers!

Judging by your Av. picture, you have a small wrist. How large is it?

I have the 43.5 in blue. I'm 6'1 around 200 lbs. It has served me well over the last few months. The adjustable clasp is great! Good luck with the research.

What is your wrist size and shape? That will ultimately depend on which you should lean towards. And of course trying it on.

I have the 45.5 model and wear it everywhere. Really holds up well. Went with the bracelet but put it on rubber a couple years ago. It definitely wears larger than the Rolex but I'm used to it

I have tried on the the calibre 8500 in 42mm and 45mm. I also tried on the GMT model that splits the difference at 43.5mm. I didn't pull the trigger, but thought the size struck a nice balance, especially as a weekend watch with a little more flash. Now that the 8900 has moved up to 43.5 I may be back on the hunt for one!

Might I also suggest grabbing a model with bracelet and snagging a strap separately? While I like both, the bracelet would be a pricier addition down the road if that is a worry.

with a 7.5" wrist, the 43.5mm GMT is about the max size ill go.

The 42mm PO is perfect imo, and the 45 just seemed way too bulky.

This is the PO I'd pick, looks great.

Ive recently acquired the second watch in tbonesteaks post ( sorry I'm new on here, so not allowed to post links)
Nice watch, quite weighty, but sits well on the wrist. A nice addition to my collection.

I'd recommend the titanium version. MUCH more comfortable due to the reduced weight.
