Hulk Stolen

Last night at 10.30pm my house was broken in to whilst i was upstairs. My car keys were taken and my Hulk was in a watch winder on the dining room table.

I came downstairs as my dog was barking only to see my car headlights come on, on the driveway and my car sped off.

Is there any sort of database to report my Hulk reference number to Rolex and any other websites in case it finds its way onto the market?

Phone the Police Get a crime number
Phone Rolex RSC in London AND Kent.
Report the theft .. They will want the crime number.

There used to be a lost and stolen register .. I dont know if it still exists .... Rolex will assist there.

Phone Watchfinder .. the company .... Report the theft to them. The thief may try and sell it.

What area are you in ? Notify local watch dealers.

NOT good to hear about the theft ... Were you insured on your household policy ?

Important think is YOU and the family are OK and unhurt.

What a frightening story to hear this went on while you were home. So the dog didn't react until they had already left the house? Scary!

Happy you weren't harmed - that' the most important thing.

As others have said police first for sure! Good luck

It couldn’t have been much worse. Was the Hulk and your car the only things stolen? Sounds like they knew you keep your Hulk on dinning room table.

Sounds like they were after the car in the first place and just picked the Hulk in the process as it was sitting there ..

Unfortunately a very common crime in the UK now - breaking in to the house for car keys and grabbing wallets/watches while they look for the keys. The police are very unlikely to investigate if my friend's experience last year is anything to go by.

Glad you're ok and time to invest in a new burglar-proof door and alarms (cameras won't deter them!); they are likely to come back in a few months assuming the car has been replaced via insurance.

So sorry to hear OP. This is terrible news.
As others have said, police report first before being able to let all the watch dealers know whats happened.
Glad you and the family are okay though.

Very sorry to hear about the ordeal. Can't imagine how distressing that must be. At least no-one was hurt and with any luck the police may be able to track the thief and get some sort of result for you.

Good suggestions from the others about contacting Rolex, watchfinder et al once this has been properly logged with the police.

Thanks for the messages everyone.

The dog was barking like mad whilst I was upstairs. I kept shouting for him to be quiet. It was only that he didnt stop that I went downstairs, only to see my car headlights come on and the car reverse off the driveway. He wouldn't come downstairs with me this morning and was shaking like a leaf.

The watch isn't covered as a special item on the contents insurance. So not really covered. Massive loss.

Very sad state of affairs. Glad you and your family are ok thats the most important thing to state the obvious. Hope you recover the watch, car etc.

During the winter of 2019/20 (just before Covid struck) we had a couple of guys repeatedly coming to our road and trying to rob cars. They just didn't care or flinch even when flood lights came on. Being caught on camera didn't phase them either as these guys knew that the police wouldn't really pursue them. During those two months they climbed over my gates at least 4 times to try and rob the cars. They did the same to other houses on the street. Thankfully they never tried to get into the house but the reality is these guys are getting bolder and bolder as they know the chances of getting caught are very limited as long as the don't resort to violence etc.

To be fair to the police, they responded by increasing night time patrols on my road. Regardless, my wife just couldn't sleep - she was literally up most nights checking the old CCTV system. I responded by really beefing up my security including upgrading the CCTV, house and perimeter alarm as well as the locks - the CCTV is now live monitored with full perimeter triggers via an external agency in the evening hours. Also we try to garage our cars overnight and we rarely keep many valuables at home with watches being rotated from the bank vault one at a time. It's not that I was scared of these guys doing us harm (the police thought they were likely young men looking for valuables to sell in exchange for alcohol or drugs) but I just wanted my wife to feel reassured and safe. Peace of mind was key for us as there have been other robberies in our neighbourhood (not on our road) with much worse consequences.

Sorry to hear this happened to you.

This happens more than people would think.

Valuable items like a Rolex should be appraised and scheduled on your homeowners insurance policy. I store my watch collection in a vault other than the one I’m wearing. That way the most I can loose is one watch - which is insured.

For some reason I know this would be in the UK before I read the thread. Sorry to hear, very brazen of them to try when you’re still awake in the house and with a dog. Glad you’re okay though.

Yes, the "hot burglary" statistics in the UK are frightening; they don't seem to care if anyone is home.

Wait a minute. Some thief walks in to your house while you’re there, car is stolen, watch and who knows what else and you’re on a website the next morning asking how to trace a submariner? Wow, talk about compartmentalization.

There’s one good way to put fear and uncertainty in the mind of a prospective burglar...

These people don't care - and if you're talking about weapons, they will end up bringing them too
