I can understand the other creations of the brand such as the Montoya, Barichello and the Hakkinen challenge…. But this is so wrong for the sub….
The Sub was conceived as a TOOL watch for diving. Having a moon phase dial on it completely takes away the essence of the watch.

Yikes. Admire the workmanship but seriously

I disagree. Moon phases and the ocean are closely intertwined. First off is the height and time of the tides which are controlled by the position of the moon as indicated by its phase. Many marine creatures have breeding cycles aligned with lunar phases. And other relationships and synchronies.

Of course there are much better tools to determine moon phase and tides these days but there are much better tools to time your dive too. I think its cool. I'd wear it.

I think the moon cutout area though will earn it the unfortunate nickname of Joker though.

That would be the same as being mad at Land Rover for making the Range Rover line.

What?! A luxury 4 wheel drive from the company that created the Defender?! Land Rover is a “tool” vehicle company. Who wants a luxury 4 wheeler?

Rolex stopped being a tool watch company in the 1980’s and became a luxury watch company. Just the same way as Land Rover sells many more Range Rovers vs Defenders.

May I also add, Burberry. What?! A gabardine coat developed initially for trench warfare priced at $1,970! Burberry is a luxury brand and not an army supplier brand anymore.

That’s just the way these things evolve.

Perfect reasoning to never buy a modern Range Rover. Who owns that now anyway?

Same with the 911 and so many classics. Completely wrecked for the “emerging economies” market and the trophy wife market.

I saw one of the lady Range Rover drivers come within half an inch of taking the side off a parked car when pulling into a parking spot way too fast.

It is worth noting that this watch and the JC DSSD were both made for people who have been featured on South Park.

I think you are destined to be forever dissatisfied with all modern versions of classics. Be they cars, watches, clothing ... whatever. Luddite is the word that comes to mind.

Bruce Springsteen has a song, really an anthem, for you ... “Glory Days”

I am not trying to attack you but I cannot comprehend a person’s resistance towards progress.

A moon phase on a watch that doesn't even include the date ? pretty useless but like people said it will sell regardless.

Read online that it cost 35k plus you have to supply the donor Submariner.

I think that's amazing, perfect tool watch for any sailor/diver.
If they were for sale in ADs I'd buy one, the best thing about my Nautilus is the moon phase, it's a feature I really like.
