My Father's Rolex
My father grew up poor on a chicken farm in Taiwan before he came to the U.S. He worked hard when he got here and by the time he was 35 had become reasonably successful as an engineer. With his newfound wealth he bought some of his first and last luxury items. The first was a 1986 Porsche Carrera 911 that still sits underneath a pile of fishing stuff. The second was a Rolex Submariner. Just like the Porsche, the Rolex sat unused. It was stored in a nice humid sock drawer and never saw daylight since it was buried under socks even when the drawer was opened. I recently dug it out and thought everyone might appreciate it. I really like the darker lume.

Thank you guys for your interest in the watch, you've all made his day. Unfortunately it is not currently for sale :( . I will post back pictures of his 911 (Also likely NFS though).
Hopefully this thread can provide some hope that there are still barn finds out there. They're just hidden in a sock drawer waiting for you. |

That's a cutie! You (or he) should enjoy that watch! It's a great model to wear, gotten a bit too expensive lately, but overall a very classic Submariner. Thanks for posting!

Lovely. Should the minute hand not be sorted/stabilised before the lume falls out?
