New acquisition sbdc063 / spb079

Picked up this sbdc063 / spb079 on Friday. Absolutely love it, keeps great time....gains +2 seconds on the wrist per day.....if I lay it down dial up it gains +4 seconds per day, and if I lay it down with the crown facing up it loses -1.5 seconds per day. So it’s perfectly simple to regulate it to spot on time each day.....it has the 6R15 movement, and no complaints as yet.

Beautiful

Congrats. Is there a difference in the Japanese model compared to the international model?

Hi thank you......no difference at all except the model number...the Sbdc063 is the Japanese market model and comes with a couple of extra paper tags with Japanese writing indicating the model number etc......the Spb079 model comes with one card tag with the model number on it.....the actual watches are exactly that same with made in Japan on the dial an back.
What I did discover which I only seen on YouTube from a couple of guys who were reviewing it is if you buy the Japanese model sbdc063 the guarantee is only valid in Japan, where as the Spb079 is valid for Seiko guarantee in the country you are in....I’m not 100% on that one but the physical watches are the same.
The 063/079 come as standard with the silicone rubber strap, the all black version 061/077 comes as standard with the bracelet. The silicone strap is super soft and comfortable.....the bracelet looks beautiful and I’m considering sending for one from Japan, but it’s gonna cost the best part of £200 by the time import tax etc is paid so am still thinking that one through. I contacted Strapcode to see if they are going to do a few straps for it, they’ve said their design team are going to release bracelets later in the year specific to the watch as they don’t have one at the moment for it.

One thing that’s worth pointing out as it can be a bit of a bugbear to some if not correct. The chapter ring is exactly lined up correctly with the 12 o’clock marker and the pip on the bezel is exactly lined up with the chapter ring.

Absolute beauty of a watch you have there, congratulations ....it was a toss up between your one and the one I have when I was deciding what to get.....such beautiful watches and value for what you get. The finishing and detail is stunning in my opinion.

I have this model myself and interesting to learn about the warranty diffences . I would also like a bracelet for it but will hold out a bit longer , the blue on the bezel really pops & that's what appealed to me over other models

Many congratulations, it is a fabulous watch. I couldn't resist the blue bezel either.

Love the hands, looks great....what are those hands from?
Is there another bracelet that fits it other than the stock bracelet?

Aftermarket Grand Seiko diver hands.

You can sometimes find the stock bracelet on watchrecon for a great price.

Nice.....I’ve got it on a blue Zulu Diver at the mo....I’ve ordered an Endmil bracelet with the straight end from Strapcode as I don’t have the Seiko bracelet for it....I’ll post a pic when it arrives.
