Interesting list.
I’d rank Goodfellas a bit higher. Same as the Godfather (although it IS too long) |

I thought about HEAT but it's not really a gangster movies I guess.
More of a heist movie.

Admittedly, I haven't seen every movie on the list. But Carlito's Way over Scarface? No Casino or even The Departed, but King of New York is on there? I disagree with the ranking.

I'm a huge Cagney fan and have long loved the two movies listed but c'mon.
Both The Godfather and The Godfather Part II are on the (very) short list of the best films ever made. Having them listed at #5 and #8 is just plain silly.

Where's Casino?
And A Bronx Tale? Godfather and Goodfellas both deserve to be higher up in my opinion. |

+1 for HEAT! Even though it is technically a "heist" film

Great to see Millers Crossing and Eastern Promises on that list. Both are favorites of mine and often overlooked films. Not sure how Scarface and Casino don't make the list.
A History of Violence is a great movie, though it technically isn't a gangster movie until the very end. |

Meh not my list but I admit I don’t favor many older films.
Absolutely criminal not to have casino on there. City of god was a good shout though. Most people here won’t be up for it but Belly is as good as any. Others for me Reservoir dogs Menace II society Paid in full Layer cake Snatch I’d argue No Country for old men…what’s more gangster than Anton Chigurh

Not even close in content or numbering. So many left out and so many of the others not ranked appropriately.

Scarface (1932) should be on the list. It's also pre Hays code.
Performance being the best ever British gangster movie should also be on the list.

A BX tale - I think was DeNiro first directed film.
It is finally starting to gain some popularity and be on more mainstream platforms. I am biased so I am not sure if I digest it different from the average viewer, nonetheless it should be viewed by all who have yet to do so.

I really wonder who makes these lists. So many good movies left off.

Godfather 1 & 2 should be 1 & 2 in either order. Can't believe Casino or Scarface aren't on the list! I will give the author credit for putting Internal Affairs on the list... chilling
