Rolex Daytona Waterproof Question...

Is it okay for the chronograph function of the Daytona to be running (pushers engaged) while underwater if the pushers are screwed down?

Sorry if this has been answered before but in looking through previous threads, I could not find a definitive answer to this specific question. I know that actively engaging/disengaging the pushers underwater could allow water in but wasn't sure what would happen if the chronograph hand was already running (with pushers screwed down) while under water.

Any input is much appreciated!

Do whatever you want with it, just don't push the pushers while underwater. The screw downs do not affect water resistance. The point of the screw downs is to prevent you from pressing them while underwater. Nothing more, nothing less.

Just re-read your post and yes, it is 100% ok for the chrono to run while under water. Just don't press the buttons while under there/

Yes that is fine, if anything, avoid pressing the buttons underwater.

Perfect. That's exactly what I wanted to double check. Thank you for your input

Could I ask the dumb question. Why not? Is there some perforated gasket or what? Just curious.

There is a gasket which does provide some level of water resistance the the event the pushers are in the open mode and submerged ....this is more for protection in the event of (minimal) exposure to water — I wouldn’t be in the habit of activating the pushers under water - nothing is air tight.
