Hooters started in Clearwater, FL and I've been going to the locations in the Tampa area since the mid 80's. Their wings aren't for everyone but I happen to like them, maybe it's because I have fond memories of eating there when I was a kid. It can be a family restaurant just as much a place for guys to watch football.

Give the original founders credit, it was a great business model that was successful for a very long time. Although they only own the Tampa locations now, I'm sure Hooters of America will figure out how to adapt to the changing environment.

The best wings I've had in a "non family" setting was at Dollhouse in Pompano Beach outside the old fashion square.

It seems the whole "Breastaurant" concept is losing steam. Sure, Hooters was fun twenty years ago when I was young and single, but I don't know anyone that goes there anymore. For me, the view was always much better than the food and I placed Hooters in the same category as I did strip clubs. I'd never met a girl there that I'd want to bring home to meet my family.

And too be honest . . . a lot of girls never met my family

But that's just me

Didn't even know Hooters was still in business. Think I went there once while in college - but that is over a decade ago.

I'm sure I get the connection between marriage and dining / not dining at Hooters..

It's a restaurant...not a brothel.

I do find these viewpoints fascinating..

True. Bad food but probably a lot of good girls/women working there. The times I've been, service has been excellent.

Here's what really happened:

1. Hooters used to have extremely attractive women. That was nearly 20 years ago. A time when the internet was not widely used, internet porn not widely available, scantily clad women not all over TV. These women would eventually get picked up and marry a well to do man.

2. Back then the "escort" (fancy name for prostitute) industry was much more secretive and less widespread. With the advent of craigslist and social media, many attractive girls that typically would work at a hooters (or strip club even), started using social media to meet sugar daddy's. This allowed them to pretend to be legit and instead of de facto hookers. Many of these girls would never consider being a "call girl". But now Instagram has glamorized seeking attention from randoms, so these girls gladly sleep with old guys and dorks in exchange for gifts and vacations. All so they can post pictures online for all of the bottom feeders who idolize them.

Hooters now is filled with trashy diseased dirt bag waitresses. Their boyfriend is either a gang banger named "Reggie" or a tattooed flat bill hat wearing lifted truck driving clown name "Skeeter". Breastaurants have become the epitome of loserville.

I've had a few customers and vendors insist on going to Twin Peaks. From the food to the staff, I want to puke thinking about it.

Most of the time when I'm out dining I'm with my wife. Why on earth would I ever take my wife to Hooters? The food sucks and I couldn't really look at the strippers... er I mean waitresses, so what's the point?

And again.

Sigh.

Funny too, it's akways the most judgmental that tend to have the most skeletons in the closet. It's as if they are somehow deflecting their shame.

After this thread I want to visit Hooters. Will try on Sunday if possible

Honestly I don't get the most recent rant. Who cares who the waitresses are dating -- that has no relevance to their job or my life
