I don't have the gear and we're very likely to have overcast skies, just as we did today.

I'm really looking forward to it, though, since, I would think, that it will get dark for a couple of minutes, clouds or no clouds.

I was in New Orleans in 1984 for the annular eclipse that was almost total and it was a very eerie sensation when everything darkened.

The weather is supposed to be good for us, so we should be able to get some good photos.

I live about 50 miles from Hopkinsville, ky where the total eclipse will happen. You can check wpsd local 6 on Facebook who has already started live streaming this morning and I assume will show the event.
We will be floating on KY Lake watching it which should have about 8-10 seconds less of the eclipse than Hopkinsville.

I've been on a motorcycle ride for the past two weeks. 3,600 miles so far, and this morning I'm in Ontario, Oregon in a hotel in the zone of totality. We can sit on the patio and watch the entire event. Im not shooting pictures, though, as astronomers have repeatedly said to just enjoy it.

Should be good here in central WA. Not a cloud in the sky. Will try to get some phone pics.

That will likely damage the sensor in your phone camera.

Almost at our peak here and not much really, definitely darker then normal though; kind of spooky.

Besides the NASA.gov streams, the safest way to view! 75% SoCal totality

Here's a snap of the remaining sunlight through a tree. The leaves acted like a bunch of projectors so you can see the eclipse on the ground.

I remember when we had a total eclipse in the UK, huge anticipation and massively underwhelming. Maybe I'm just difficult to please :)

I agree. We were about 5 hours south of the path of totality, but still got to view it here with glasses on. It was neat, but I'm so glad I didn't drive 350 miles for that.

Didn't get any good shots during totality, but here are two of the better ones I got beforehand. First turned out due to cloud cover allowing my iPhone to focus. Second happened to catch a perfect glare of it on my watch at 6:00.

Kidding Me !!?? The sun is facing the back of your wrist though

That's a true story and actual picture ?? That's a Yacht-Master !!

If so, that's indescribable and an omen of sorts if true

That's a great prank

This is as much as we got in SoCal.
Picture taken with my cell phone, covered by the eclipse glasses we received at the library.

It is a true story and an actual picture. My wrist was more presented towards the sun than the perspective reveals in the picture. Either that or it was reflecting from the camera lens and then back to the watch crystal. Not sure, but that's definitely the reflection of the sun during the eclipse today a while before totality.
