Dogs and blood
My ex and I have a few dogs and they absolutely love wounds and blood. For example, after weedeating my shins always have some blood on them from rocks,pebbles or whatever. After a shower they know right off the bat where to start licking and then biting to draw more blood. Anyone else here have dogs that do this?

I have a rottweiler who knows how to draw blood on command but nothing along the lines of your issue. Then again my beagle (don't ask - long story how the unlikely duo came to be together...) will try to lick and nurse me if injured but he will not bite to draw more blood.

Dogs and blood
One of my dogs licks my legs whenever I get out of the shower. Not sure if that is because she likes the slight sweetness from any soapy residue or because she is bonding. I don't think I'd like my dogs to get the taste of my blood - chicken, beef and lamb, but not me - I'm not food...

My game dogs (labs/Poodle) lave always been able to sniff out a would and wanted to lick at it. To heal I presume, they never try to bite to draw blood. My GSD was a phlebotomist on command.

Throw on a pair of jeans or be a little more diligent with the trimmer lol
My boxer tries to lick my arm after I work out. The salt I assume.

Don't know about blood but our Lab loves to lick my legs when I get back from a run, must be the saltiness of the sweat.

Nope mine don't, but they are older puffs, but they would eat me if they thought i was made of cheese or chicken!

Once a dog gets the taste of blood, they love it. Goes back to the "hunt drive." Granted, my working Police K9 has licked my wounds to heal them...... but once they get the "taste for blood on the 'hunt' they just want it again and again. Lol
