INCOMING- I didn't see this one coming.......

Well as some of you know I ordered a 718 Boxster a few months back. One of the things I was adamant on was a manual transmission. Last week my sales guy told me that there would be at least a two month delay in the delivery of my car. A month ago I had hip replacement surgery so today I went to the dealership to test drive another Boxster in a manual transmission. To say it was painful is an understatement. Then may guy says, hey I know you've always liked the 981s , come see this when we just took on trade. The second I say it I new my build was in trouble of never meeting me. This one is a 15, S model, PDK (which I love) sport chrono, other goodies, etc. AND the interior closed the deal. I loved the orange combo. Well this is not how I saw the Boxster going but in quite happy. Thx again boys and here are some pics....

Very nice! So what happens to the car you ordered originally? Does it still get built and put on general sale or just taken off the production schedule and forgotten about forever,?
Cheers

I just drooled all over myself. Hope you still get the 718 for an awesome Porsche pairing.

I got rid of my manual car after issues with my back.

I actually much prefer driving an automatic.

I really liked your build. But this looks nice too.

Congrats.

Boxster day on forum. Very nice, I still love manuals, even if they are slower.

Oh boy Rick, this is the one....naturally aspirated flat 6, what a glorious sound this makes, this will give you all the driving emotions that a 4 banger turbo in the 718 will not give you. I dont think you are going to miss a manual after driving this, you certainly made the right choice. Have fun and enjoy the last of the NA flat 6 Porsche

I'm really not sure as I never asked. They just applied my deposit to this car.

Thanks guys so much for all the comments. I've had some mixed emotions bc I took so long doing the build etc. After driving that manual yesterday I realized sadly that driving after hip replacement surgery (my left hip was replaced) is going to be different for some time and the PDK was the way to go. I looked at a couple of new 718s with PDK but I loved the one I bought the second I saw it.
