Two Tone Submariner Q's.....

This thread may belong in the technical section, if so then admins please move it.

My awesome wife just bought me my dream watch, after 30 years of Omega's and self winding Seiko's I finally have my highly desired time piece. My question's are:

1. The band link to the clasp is not coordinated to the clasp, is this a Rolex thing or am I missing a link?

2. Some Rolex's I've seen including some good fakes have the Rolex name encircling the watch face etched into the inner trim ring just under the outer ring. Is this a model thing and available as an option/upgrade?

3. Where/who is a good resource for genuine Rolex parts that specialize in high end watches? If I'm going to pay good money for service and parts I really don't think paying the service facility then a retailer for handling it is in my best interest.

THX !!

The "Rolex Rolex Rolex" on the rehaut is something later models have.

You can ship a watch directly to Rolex for servicing -- you don't have to send it through a dealer.

Yes, the older models had that style of bracelet connection to the clasp.
Yours will not have the Rehaut engraving, that came later..
You can ship directly to a RSC (Rolex Service Center), but you must follow their shipping procedures. If you don't, they will not accept the parcel, and it will be returned to you. Call a service center for shipping directions.

You have a great piece there, enjoy!

This may seem like a dumb Q, but given that this is my first "real" Rolex is the gold solid (because it certainly doesn't feel solid) or is it all plated? I saw a watch on ebay where the gold had been polished off the set screw.
