Incoming! Collection Complete.

Got the call last week for my black dial 36mm DJ to go with the silver dial I got earlier this summer. I expressed interest in both of them in June, got the silver one in July after a month (had done an "intent to purchase" 50% deposit in June), and got the black one in October after four months (went back in September and did another "intent to purchase" 50% deposit, but was told at this time it was a de facto order and no longer just a request), so not too bad for zero purchase history. Both came from the same AD. In that time another AD reached out to me to offer me a mint dial in this configuration, but I declined. I bought no junk I didn't want, but these aren't steel Daytonas either.

So this is it, this is my entire collection. As a minimalist, I don't desire to own more (except maybe a Day Date but that's out of the question at my income level with my other responsibilities as a new dad). I already feel a bit indulgent with two of the same exact watch just in different colors.

So why two of the exact same watch, why not one fluted/Jubilee and one domed/Oyster? Well, because I guess I learned long ago that I'm not like most people, and that my preferences can be pretty peculiar. Of the four combos available, the domed/Jubilee is my favorite - I feel the Jubilee dresses it up a bit while the domed bezel dresses it down a bit, making it work for any occasion, and to me it's the best looking; it wouldn't have made sense to get two different configurations because I know I would inherently end up preferring one over the other and never wear the other. This could still technically happen with just different dial colors, but I truly love both equally.

I left a tough review of this Bosphorus Petra case for daily use in the off topic forum earlier this year, but I still like the box as a keepsake. Someday this box with these two gems inside will be passed down to my infant son. I think this box and these two watches inside make for a very nice keepsake for him to have when I'm gone.

Congrats - you like what you like, and simply put now you have a versatile watch that’s now THAT much more versatile in the sense that you now have a dark and light dial variant to cycle around as necessary based on outfit!

Well done
I applaud you on knowing what you like and your control to not go overboard. Also, I strongly agree with you about the combo of smooth bezel and jubilee…it covers every scenario and is also unique.
Wear them in best of health.

Thanks all, this is definitely the end of my collection, the more stuff I own the more stressed out I get so this is definitely it for me for the foreseeable future. These two cover all my bases. As far as what's next...what's next is to wear the hell out of them and make sure I have one of them on for each of my son's special moments as he grows up.

The 36mm Datejust is spectacular, and the smooth bezel is my favorite. Congrats!
