Tax Freedom Day

Every year, one of our Taxpayers groups posts "Tax Freedom Day".
This is the day during the year when you have to work up to, to completely pay for your various taxes. After this day, you begin to work for yourselves.
On average, this day is around June 26th. Also, the average Canadian income is around $40,000 per person.
I was thinking about this , from a fellow Canadians comment about how much tax we pay.
I have posted the link, so others can enter there incomes in, to see where they fare if they had to pay our taxes.
It is also interesting to look at the Provincial disparaties.
BTW, I think this calculator is capped at $100,000 income.
Have fun

( maybe I'm the only one here who finds this financial burden ( another term for TAX) interesting )

I did the deal, but not sure what it meant. I know I would make alot more money if I was into a different hobby, say watching paint dry.

What this association does, is calculate how much tax ( income, sales, property, gas, etc etc) Canadians spend each year.
Then based on your income, the chart shows you , IF you put 100% of you earnings towards the tax, you would have your annual tax bill paid.
SO, on AVG, June 26th. You would be working for the Govt for 6 months, then starting June 27th, you could keep you earnings.
