New mask to go with 16710

I just got my new Grateful Dead mask... it goes pretty well with my 16710.

Looks good !

Amazing how quickly mask wearing has become the norm.

Still waiting on my new one to arrive in the post.

Figure this will be sticking around for a couple of years so may as well get a couple of good ones.

I am not a Deadhead either, but I am still waiting for the others I ordered. I have a KISS, AC/DC and Beatles mask on their way as well. Might as well make the best of a bad situation.

Not sure I follow - Are you saying mask wearing isn’t a good thing ?

It’s been common in many parts of the world but not so much in the west...however the population has quickly adapted to the new normal.

He's saying that like good little sheep, people are following along without questioning it. Even though from what I have read, there is very little benefit to wearing masks, especially since a lot of people wear them improperly...I wear one because my work mandates it.

Ah yes - I think the benefits are more for other people than stopping oneself from catching it by reducing the distance of droplet spread. The evidence is quite strong for that.

For 100% self protection you would need much more stringent measures than a homemade face covering, essentially impossible outside a clinical setting.

The government mandates face coverings here too for the reasons above.

Don't waste your time explaining the benefits of wearing a mask. We Americans all got our Phd from google university.

I assume you are referring to yourself... I didn't acknowledge or discount the effectiveness of masks, I simply stated what I had read.

Please don't generalize "We Americans"...

"Even though from what I have read, there is very little benefit to wearing masks.....I wear one because my work mandates it." That's discounting it.

Get over yourself. The self righteous thing gets pretty old.

I wear a mask, in stores, work, where required... However, I am not one of the zealots who wears one while driving by myself in my car. If I didn't have to... would i wear one? Probably not.

Thanks Paul, I get that it's unpleasant, but every little bit helps. Glad you found something fun to wear. And thanks to everyone else who puts one on when indicated even though it's uncomfortable. We are all in this together

I suggest you read empirical studies that came way before this more recent pandemic. Some even sponsored by 3M, that in fact does 3M no benefit. This is a watch forum have you ever posted about watches??

Please enlighten me as to why wearing a mask in your own vehicle would make someone a "zealot". Were you holding a very wide brush when you said this?

p.s. cool mask
