ROLEX BOUTIQUES sellers

looking to buy my first good watch....

If I buy from one of the Rolex boutiques here, I know they are "trusted" and would never knowingly sell a fake Rolex.

But do these dealers specifically check that the watch is 100% original?

Do they open it up check movement, make sure if there has been replacement parts (such as bezel inserts) the parts are all genuine ?

We are paying a premium for them to actually check everything and say its ok. there wont be any instances of them saying "oh sorry we thought it was real"

Or they just sell, say its genuine because its 99% genuine and claim they don't know the insert was OEM?

I've asked a dealer on Chrono and he said it was common practice to have the bezel inserts changed when scratched to OEM as its not cost effective to replace it to original.

Welcome!

Typically, the best sellers here are solid, and you’ll do better than a ‘private’ Facebook group *coughhorologyouthousecough* because the group here is transparent and will call out bs sales practices.

But you really should just ask them what their guarantees are. They’re active and likely have seen your post already.

Welcome! I would suggest you ask them. Though you are good to go in my experience on authenticity from any. I always ask them: “what’s not original to the watch,” and I always get a straight answer (replaces hands, new crystal etc). I ask every single time

Ultimately it is up to YOU to make sure you aren't ripped off. Do your research and due diligence, ask questions, check references and use common sense. I would never trust luxury watch money to anyone that does not have a sterling reputation with verifiable public references. Any of the Boutique Sellers on TRF have literally hundreds of flawless transactions here and are considered trustworthy sellers. If any issue were to arise, I'm sure they would work with anyone to find a satisfactory resolution. They have earned the title. Good luck.

I doubt they would have their boutique status on TRF if they didn't individually check each time piece... but it is always a good idea to get things checked out immediately upon receipt... getting a message 3 years later about an aftermarket clasp is not a fun situation for seller or buyer...

There are "Boutique" sellers here who have had aftermarket parts in their sales ads. Always due your due diligence.
