Show us an example of what you’re referring to.
If it’s what I’m thinking you’re talking about, then size isn’t the issue – it’s more likely to be the ‘owner’ of the photos has deleted them, moved them, or changed their visibility from public to private or those within his circle. |

If your using Windows this usually works for me.
When on google, right click on the image and 'Save As..' to your Pictures or Documents file on your PC/Laptop or even your desktop (somewhere you can find it again easily) When replying to a post or posting a new thread and want to use the image, left click on the yellow square with the grey triangle in it ('Insert Image' appears when you hover over it) I find that whilst writing the post or new thread the image doesn't appear until you click on 'Preview Post' Then the image or images should appear exactly as they will when you click 'Submit Reply' Not sure if this is the same when using Apple devises such as iPad or iPhone as I only have Windows and Android. Apols if this isn't what you were asking about... |

Yep, can’t see the second image in your opening post.
Web Inspector shows it as "failed to load resource 403 Forbidden” – this means it’s been moved to a folder or its share status is private/friends, instead of public. Go fix that, and it’ll be hunky dory. |

Yep, showing up fine – now go change the status or move it into another/new folder – if it changes to the “no entry” sign, then we’ve sussed out the problem.
If you change the status back or move it back to the original folder/location, then the image should be visible once more. |

So the image you’re trying to post in #10 is the same as your 2nd image in the sales thread?
The url is different, but that’s to be expected if the file is in a different location which the link should resolve to. Do me a favour, fire me a PM with a link to your Google+ account – I’ll see if I can view the photos whilst on their domain. Another thought is even if you haven’t moved the file, but renamed it – that could break the link…possibly. |

Done – no difference on the iPhone. Same “no entry” sign as Safari shows on the Mac.
Edit: As I suspected…logged out of Google, and now the sign is replaced with the more recognisable blue square that indicates a missing image. If I click on it, I get taken to the log-in page. I suspect the only real way of fixing it, is to delete the file and re-upload it again. Something somewhere is causing the link to not resolve. If you find other images doing similar, I think you’d be best to host your photos on a better photo hosting site – there are a number of free and paid for sites to choose from. |

7’s fine, 10’s MIA, just like the sale thread’s 2nd image.
Doesn’t matter if I view it on the phone or the Mac, the resultant display is the “no entry” symbol, whilst logged into Google. If I log out, then it simply becomes the more common blue box you see, indicating that the linked image is not able to be retrieved from where the link points to. As said previously, PM me your G+ url – if I can see the image(s) there okay, both logged in and not, then it’s an issue with the actual hotlink itself. If I can’t, then it points to there being an issue with the image status. Alternatively, re-upload the same image into the same folder, and link it here – let’s see if it shows fine or not. You might need to rename it, but even if not, it’d be wise to append 1 to the end of the name (before the .jpg/.png suffix) so you can differentiate between the two when selecting it. |

Right, I’ve added a few photos to my G+ – I couldn’t see anything that enables or disables them from being visible to everyone, but I’ll keep digging around.
I have to say, I much prefer my Picturepush account, which does allow for making images/folders private or public, and a password if set to friends, so only the person(s) it has been given to, can view it. Photos seems like a basic version of Flickr, only poorer – now I know why I’ve never bothered with it. Jesus bloody Christ…what a ‘king faff trying to “share” a photo! I’ll leave that there until you reply that you can or can’t see it – then I’ll move it out and back into the album, to see what happens. |

Yeah…I’ve logged out and ditched googleusercontent cookies, so now I see the same generic ‘missing image’ blue box with ? inside it.
I’ve come to a decision – this is fruitless and a waste of time and effort for both of us! Google Photos is ‘king shite, and with that said, I highly recommend using a far better service for hosting images on forums. I pay €10 a year for Picturepush, and use Imgur for stuff that I don’t worry about losing or not being visible if the service was to disappear. Aside from the search side and email, and I suppose googledrive (somewhat), Google can disappear up its own arse with this nonsense! If I feel inclined to try to further figure out wtf is going on, I’ll come back to this thread, but for the foreseeable future, give yourself less headache and use a proper image hosting company. |
