So is this the first Basel where I really don't want anything

I kind of like the 5170P...but diamond hour markers and a shiny band?? Seems too "fem" for what could have been a killer.

As for rolex the cellini with the moon is kind of cool but not enough to get me buying.

I had my hopes set very high for a 5270p or new variant of such.

I can't believe it...I really think this will be my first basel in ages where I don't order anything.

I'm kind of at a loss...I feel like something is dying inside...ugggggg

I'll track down a new panerai bronzo I guess...meh

If the diamonds are like 40th it will be a hit and if you buy the 5170P I am sure they throw in a free Matt strap for you. But I think it's pretty much Aquanaut

Not my first and unfortunately won't be the last is my guess.

For an industry that is 'suffering', a little more R&D/design investment $$ would go a long way.

I'm out rolex and PP missed the mark for
me this year. Plenty of "old watches" can now get my attention.

After Rolex, Tudor and PP releases, I've put my wallet away for this year. On to other things to throw $$$ at.

I kind of agree. I like the 5960 in WG with the brown strap; wonder what the price will be.

It's not a bad thing. Can save some $$$. I personally think that the watch industry can do with a product launch every alternate year or every 3 years thus having sufficient time to offer fresh design and new innovation ( new movement, complication etc ). Rather than doing it every year and compel to come out with recycled products where 90% of the "new" offerings are actually just swapping dials and case material.

Thoroughly unimpressed. Patek continues to move further away from the brand that defined haute horology.

WWHS? (What Would Henri Say?)

Why do you think so ? I think most of the new releases are very decently designed cases with nice and useful complications.Just wondering.

This is probably the right time for you to get into some application pieces.
