I liked earlier in the thread where he's on TMZ getting into a car, having a debate with his buddy as to which Sub OJ was wearing, and he threw out model numbers, the nipple dial...he's the man, John Mayer is the man.

Just came across this thread...I'm a big JM fan. His writing and guitar playing are phenomenal.
If you're looking to get into his music, I'd suggest the "Where The Light Is" bluray/cd/dvd. Extremely well produced, and a great sampling of him playing acoustic, blues and rock. There are three men who I credit with my interest in watches: James Bond, my AD and John Mayer. |

There's been a few articles & pictures of John & his watches across on one of the other forums
I heard he was suppose to have gotten Jennifer A into Rolex too I also saw some pictures of him in his apartment that someone had scanned\ posted from some "house" magazine. They'd scanned & blown up books from his shelves that were comex\ rolex related. PS - great musician too !! |

John Mayer is awesome!!!
He is a Rolex fan. He is also a Stevie Ray Vaughn admirer. He plays a mean guitar too, and beds hot women. What's not to like? The guy is my hero. |

Any ideas as to where one could find the alligator strap shown on page one of this thread, I love it. I've googled the information on the back of the strap with no luck. I think another poster asked the same thing, but I didn't see An answer posted. Thanks.

It is my goal
To dress like Stevie Ray Vaughan, and play guitar like John Mayer. Or maybe the other way around, I'm not sure.

I'm not sure I like John Mayer being a 'Rolex Guy'... I always thought of Rolex guys being IKE, Arnold Palmer & Schwarzenegger, Daniel Craig (Omega pays him but his heart is what matters), Sean Connery, Steve McQueen, The Gipper, Don Schula and Roger Waters... Not sure breaking up with his girlie using Twitter or giving Kanye the time of day classifies as cool for Rolex guys. The Rolex Police should buy back his collection. I guess I'm getting old.

Wow, all this "information" and no one mentioned that Your body is a Wonderland was written about Jennifer Love Hewitt, who Mayer dated!

What a great thread! Looks like McCartneys guiatist plays a lovely looking lemon burst 59 Les Paul!
Mayer is a fantastic guitar player and I am a true Clapton fan but check this link at as I think most people know this one - true classic in every way! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh4n1bZi4d8 Just fantastic blues soloing from 1:24 - 2:11 and the bands face and Erics say it all! It is truly a great live performance by John Mayer and is what first got me interested in his music! |

Interesting thread indeed, here is my contribution, two soon to be legendary musicians (Jay-Z/ J-Mayer) in their element... There may not be any Hip-Hop fans on this thread but please be cognizant that some folks are lurking here inconspicuosly ;o)

My wife and I have seen Mayer in concert five times and have all his albums. He is one of the few artists in my iPod that I can listen to, and love every single song across all his albums. He is an unbelievable talented guitar player, but he seems to get overlooked by most hard-core guitar fans that worship Clapton, BB King, etc. I think most people automatically dismiss him due to the commercialization/top-40 popularity of this music. I have a couple of friends that love great guitar music, but refuse to listen to Mayer out of principal.
I would recommend that if you are a single guy to check out a Mayer concert. By far, the largest concentration of beautiful and hot women is at John Mayer concerts and the ratio of women to men is at least 2:1, if not 3:1 or greater! |

I'm also on the far side of 50. OK, I'll be 51 next week, but still. Mayer has certainly had his issues with douchebaggery in public, but as someone who spent most of his youth in his room practicing guitar and listening to SRV, BB KIng, Clapton, Albert King, Duane Allman etc...I would second the "Where the light is" recommendation, but skip all the popular stuff (I like that stuff too, but not for convincing someone over 50 that this guy is serious business) and go straight to the 10 minute blues song "Out of my Mind". That will be that for all doubts.
