Anti Rolex posts

I'm noticing lately that there has been a run of members with single posts starting threads deriding or criticising Rolex and or service.
Bracelets that bend lugs, pins that snap, wanted extra links but want to charge for service, the list goes on.
Can the mods just remove these ridiculous troll posts because like moronic tv it's wasting still wanted brain cells!
Add to that untrue watch survival stories by Walter Mitty and his mates, jeez!

Are you suggesting that the moderators silence new members because some may not like or agree with the subject matter?
If so, that's a slippery slope.
I realize there are trolls out there but who decides whether a thread is worthy or not?

Who knows but I've seen a lot of these posts lately and the posters most times never seem to reply to anything advised anyway.

Censorship is a great idea as long as it's happening to people you don't agree with.

Sit back and relax as you'll probably be seeing a lot more.

The mods are doing a great job and certainly don't need help or advice from you!

These anti-Rolex threads are no worse than the blind loyalist fanboy threads. The membership here does a very good job of weeding out both gratuitous criticism and praise. If things get out of hand then the mods are never far away with their water cannons to spray down the mob or make a few arrests if necessary.

Have to see how they develop...some are obvious when their screen names are something obscene, others could just be what seems a silly question, but could be legit. From what I've seen over the years is that the mods have a good eye and will take care of things

I didn't ask for advice or indeed give any. I asked for them to do something about this troll behaviour. And contrary to your assumption they are obviously taking a break of late but thanks again for your personal attack on me. You seem to like doing it more than most. Follow your own advice and keep your opinion to yourself thank you.

it is, because as usual a thread is steered by someone in a way that it was never intended.
Why am I surprised, happens way too often.

Excellent point. Those decisions are best left to the moderators.

Last time I checked, the TRF is an open-ended 'watch discussion' forum with the ground rules clearly spelled-out. If you are seeking a a cerebral police-state, perhaps there are other internet/life options.

+1 x 1000. Rx= chill-out and/or move on to another thread if the topic (or perceived intent) is troubling your inner sensibilities/sensitivities.

IBTL as well.

As seems to be the norm' at times a thread that started off in a light hearted manner with fact and dare I say slight humour is turned by a few individuals into something completely different. I don't get it, is life that boring for some?
I'll just now have to ignore any thread that I think may have been started by a troll or any thread that I think may get ruined by others.
It's a great forum at times for ideas, technical, info etc but it's also trampled over by sarcasm and ignorance a little too often and it would seem that saying that out loud is a little too much for some to deal with so I apologise in advance if you take offence.

It's entirely possible and understandable that some are disgruntled with Rolex and this is the place to air any concerns if you ask me.

Well, this was a waste of time and not nearly as entertaining as the LV vs. Chanel thread.

Yes, that was entirely the point of my facetious censorship post. How ridiculous to call for the moderators to decide what threads should stay and which should be deleted. Outside of those in clear violation of forum rules, of course.

Anti Rolex posts

I happen to like some of the junk threads! They are like little nuggets of nonsense - just laughable meaningless posts, amongst other interesting informative threads.

Your post is one of those nuggets!

You're one click away from ignoring anything you want to ignore.

Also it's important to remember every member here started with 0 posts, just cause you don't like hearing what they have to say in post #1, doesn't mean something they say in post #50, 200, or 2000 couldn't change your life.

Trolling is one thing, sometimes obvious sometimes not so obvious, but starting a thread about a snapped pin or service charges, whether critical or not can be helpful to many believe it or not.

I've def start threads in the past, criticizing Rolex (RSC) and in the end came away feeling content about the situation because of the support and knowledge of members of this forum. I've also criticized rolex in the past and came away feeling completely validated because of the support and knowledge of the forum.

I certainly understand closing down non-sensical threads or threads that blatantly ignore and disregard forum rules, but I for one love and appreciate being able read and write almost anything someone could share.
