5711 as only watch?

I currently have a Rolex 116619. I am considering adding a blue dial 5711 and may ultimately sell the sub to help finance the nautilus. Not sure yet. What are your thoughts about having the 5711 as your one and only watch?

I think that would be totally fine. Is your 116619 your only watch?

The 5711 can be both a sporty and dressy watch at the same time.

I'd advice to have a second watch. Maybe trade the smurf for a steel sub? I think the 5711 can take a beating if you wear it for all situations.

It certainly can be done.

What's your tolerance for wear and tear?

Have you even owned a watch with a finely finished bezel?

I've had a 5167, 5164, 5712 and 5980 and had no issues with wear. I had a few bad years so had to sell. Thinking I will buy a 5711 and keep the 116619 and go from there.

I think you'll want a second when the 5711 has to be in for service, which can take up to 6 months, iirc. A SS sub (or SDc) is a great pairing.

Assuming you have a tolerance for your watches not looking pristine, then yes!

I used to have that problem, but I look at scratches as character now.

If you have already owned Aquanaut and Nautilus, then your question of getting the 5711 is a no brainer. If you can keep both the Sub and Nautilus, it would make for a nice combo.

I'd prefer to add a beater type watch for rougher environments. If possible, a steel rolex, maybe an explorer.

i dont think there's a problem, just need something else to wear while it takes forever to get serviced.

I have a frw but could imagine mtself with the 5712 as an only watch so don't see any problem with a 5711 as an only

It could work with a Sub or something else as others have stated. 5711 is a great piece but the bezel will eventually get scratched if it is used daily and for rigorous activity.

Having has my 5711 for over a year I'd say you need another watch for activities, sporty holidays and such.
Any steel Rolex will do even an explorer 1 or a Sub 114060 that you can slap on the wrist whenever

The one watch for me would be the Sub you own. No bad thoughts on the 5711 as I like it with both the blue and white face but they are going for a premium in the gray market and AD's have lists. The WG Sub has everything I would need.
