Just got my first Rolex this week, from an AD, and I didn't think twice when they offered to remove the plastic. OP, are you one of those people who leaves the sticker on their hat?

Who says I would keep the stickers on my Rolex? As I said in my OP that I removed them as soon as I got my first Rolex (116613LB). Next week I will be getting my second (116621) and it will be full of stickers. I will likely immediately peel all of them off. I was just curious why some people prefer to keep theirs on... one good point someone made is resale value. That makes sense. I guess some people are worried about inevitable scratches and keep them on for that reason... everyone has their preference I guess. The only sticker I will keep on mine is the one on the case back as I've learned from my first Rolex that it tends to get scratched when the bracelet rubs against it. When it starts peeling off itself and accumulates dust and dirt I will peel it off.

Haha this post is the butt of the joke.

Hilarious if you think anyone cares that much... "give WISd a bad name!"!? Lol.

Funny to imagine a non WIS somehow able to see there are stickers on someone's rolex and walk away going "that's why these watch enthousiasts are not gentlemen!!!"

But yeah I do agree, you should take those stickers off right away. Unless you think there's a chance you won't keep the watch and you just want to try it around the house or something for a week or two. Assuming it's a keeper, stickers come off immediately.

Put me down for peeling them off at red lights as a previous chap mentioned I received my 114060 from a TS on a Saturday so I kept the stickers on until I could get the bracelet sized by Giovanni at the SF service center first thing Monday AM. I then removed all the stickers in the car on my way to work and made a nice little pile of plastic on my pant leg.

This thread reminds me of the subject of buying a new car, and now long does one leave the new car sticker on the window. There were always those people, that left the new car sticker on their window for over a month. And then there was me .. asking the dealer to remove the sticker for me before I drove the car off the lot.

Take the stickers off immediately. That is my answer.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will give them a try, hopefully it gets it off.

Peel the plastic

Leaving the plastic on when you wear it is like having those horrible clear covers on your living room furniture, tacky and silly looking. Don't worry about the scratches; that is why you send it back to Rolex every few years to get polished. Actually many authorized dealers do it very well for a lot less.

I think Nancy said it best when it comes to polishing a Rolex.

But isn't it just great annoying those who think their way of doing things is always right? Reason enough to leave them on!

Do you remember the clear plastic covers on your grandmother's sofa and chairs? Or your uncle's old Chevy with those awful clear plastic covers. Burn your butt in summer and stiff in winter. Think about that and get the plastic the hell off!
