Half-Link for White Gold Submariner

I think the ceramic sub's currently come with a half-link.

Based on some queries, it looks like the WG version does not come with a half-link....but does anyone know if its possible to purchase one for that bracelet?

I don't really think it is needed due to the glide lock clasp. I have a wg sub and it is still extremely comfortable.

You are correct, the half link does not come with the precious metal models...or even the TT, for goodness sake.

Yes, it is possible to purchase one. It is quite pricey, however.

i actually believe i may need one, just due to my particular wrist symmetry.

i need more 'space' on the 6 side, the glidelock effectively only provides more space on the 12, i believe

You're better off buying a used watch, taking the link you need, and then selling the watch again!

In the new catalog I think the WG 1/2 link is $1100 for the 97209 bracelet

A halvie would be perfect for my Smurf, but the glide lock covers a multitude of sins

When did the new catalog come out? Because I looked up the prices like two weeks ago at my AD.

Reviving this thread. Does anyone know whether there is a half link available to purchase for the smurf? I keep finding conflicting info.

I would call your local Rolex AD and ask them directly if it can be ordered and price.

I actually called rolex nyc service center and the person did not seem certain but indicated an AD would have to order it if it’s possible. She said it’s not a part that a customer can buy. I just don’t know if they are manufactured or not.

Would the half link out of the steel subs fit the white gold Sub?

Only if you have an older WG Sub bracelet without ceramic sleeves

You do not need a half link with the Glidelock clasp. Save your money.

Still perplexed why one would need a half link with glidelock clasp, it has an entire link of adjustment built in.

Because you need a half link more space on the short side, not the long side. I’m not sure what the mystery is.

Because the glidelock adjustment only changes the length of the 12 o'clock side of the bracelet, not the 6 o'clock side. It does have any impact on clasp position relative to the watch head.

its the six o'clock side of the bracelet length that determines best "fit" and placement. The 12 o'clock side determines bracelet tension

Sometimes a half link is necessary to facilitate ideal placement of the watch head relative to the clasp

Good point, you are right, I can definitely see given the weight of the smurf, it does need to be centered.

On a side note, I just checked on mine, and I was surprised to see I do in fact have a half link in my bracelet. Came that way from AD. Strange?

I had to buy a half link for my TT sub. But well worth it for the perfect fit. Bought mine through a local AD.
