When to peel off the plastic?
I'm soon to get my second Rolex (116621) and I'm wondering when to peel off the factory plastic. I peeled it off my first piece (116613LB) on day one for maximum shine... I see some people keep their plastic on. Is that the smart option to prevent scratches or...?

When to peel off the plastic?
If I buy from an AD i let them remove it. If from a trusted seller I pull it off before it hits my wrist. You don't go buy a new car and leave the white bug protector all over it used when it's being transported.

Before you leave the store with it on your wrist.

For God's sake, man, as soon as you receive it! If you buy it from an AD, then get those stickers off before you leave the shop.

Two of the strangest things I've found from fellow Rolex owners (i) the hatred of any after-market strap or bracelet (like if you put another bracelet on the watch the watch becomes a 'fake' or 'counterfeit') and (ii) wanting to keep the stickers on the watch.
No offense to the OP, just something I've noticed that seems unique to Rolex. |

I'm not sure why this is such a point of contention here, but I left mine on until they fell off or were noticeable. Perhaps I'm weird, but every time a sticker came off I got bit excited.

Keeping the plastic stickers on I do not understand. Just the thought of plastic on such a gorgeous all metallic piece horrifies me. It's gotta go! But I see some people that keep those stickers on to the point where they're starting to peel and have dirt in them. Atrocious! I guess they're very scared of scratching it up, but as I've learned from my first Rolex, it's inevitable. No matter how much I baby it those scratches appear, especially around the clasp. One thing that is disappointing is that the clasp, by design, scratches the center links that surround it. Happens when the links around it rub against the clasp. No way to avoid that. |

Stickers off before it leaves the AD.

I do enjoy peeling my own stickers. So I guess I'm guilty of leaving the AD. It's fun to sit down at home, by myself, wheee it's nice and quiet and remove the plastic. It's fun.

I need them off asap unless it's the back sticker..that doesn't affect my comfort....it looks strange but I know the other side..my wife keeps stickers on her new phones for weeks...I can never understand why but to each their own.

If stickers stay on, might as well not wear the watch, imo.

I remove all the Rolex stickers and put aftermarket stickers on to preserve the original stickers... and the watch.

I bought my new subc from an AD. It was in the plastic shipping coffin when I first saw it after trying on the display item. When I said let's do it, they brought it out and opened it up. Without taking the stickers off we went through the sizing process. Once that was done they whisked it away to clean it. When it came back it seemed to have no stickers on it. Over the next month I discovered little sticker after little sticker. I THINK they are all off!
