its all priorities- if you want a rolex more than you want to go out to eat, its super easy to save. if youre living within your means, theres nothing you shouldnt be able to afford in time.

Haha! You're very welcome.
Maybe you could put the dough saved, towards your next Rolex.

This is even better knowing it's coming from someone living in Singapore.

My mortgage is $1500 per month, but I am adding an extra 3k or more to the principal to get the house paid off asap.

After the mortgage is paid off and fully debt free, I can reward my wife and I with new Rolex's after a few more months of saving. For now, I just wear my grandfather's 1601.

Just looking at interest payments alone for my mortgage makes me sick. I couldn't live with myself by giving more money to the bank when I can control how much of it I can keep in my pocket.

People’s income levels vary... this can account for at least part of the differences.

Smart move. A car is a depreciating asset, a Rolex is not.

The average person doesn't own a Rolex.

My AD had store financing. 12 months interest free if paid to -0- at the end of the contract. If I can use someone else money interest free I go for it. I financed half and paid for half.

That's usually what I do. Pay half and spread the other half over the course of the zero percent term. Usually 12-18 months depending. Might as well take advantage of free money and get the watch 12-18 months sooner.

I flip things. Then I save 80% of the profits. The rest can be a watch, overtime. I try to never touch savings, other investments, or my retirement funds.

Also, never ever get in debt to purchase a luxury item.

I only buy with excess savings. I’m fortunate that I have a good amount of cash coming in. Too bad I can’t use them as a deduction at work then I’d be on a nonstop shopping spree

Not all Rolex's appreciate....A watch is not an asset which one should be concerned about future value IMO.....

Hard work and savings. Never go into debt and only buy what I can pay cash for without jeopardizing anything. I’m currently saving for a new DJ and will only pull the trigger when I’ve got the cash. I want a platinum Daytona but I’d be dead by the time I managed to save for that so I’ve opted for a £8850 DJ instead!

Know your limitations and stick to them.

Spend too damn much on this hobby. I would have a lot more in my personal accounts if I liked smartwatches. Instead I wear savings on my wrist

Cash. Would never dream of buying something that is such a luxury if I didn’t have the cash in the bank. Only thing I have borrowed money for is my house.

By utilizing the portion of net cash flow that I don’t need for the important things in life.
