Nautilus 5726A trade for AP 26331IP

Gents,

I'm being offered an AP 26331IP (new with box and papers) with some cash (amount being worked out) for my Nautilus 5726A (mint + box, without papers). Do you think it's a fair trade?

I already own an AP 26331ST (cuz frankly, it's beautiful) and I'm not entirely sure if adding the IP will make it redundant (somewhat similar color scheme, shape). If it does, I might decide to part with it.

All opinions are welcome.

p.s. I'm also posting this on the AP forum.

As I said over there, I'd keep the Naut and trade ST for the IP.

I voted for the Nautilus but I had not noticed the poll is for the leather strap version. In that case, I would change my vote back to the Royal Oak. Either Nautilus or Royal Oak are not complete without the integrated bracelet.

I actually like the strap version quite a bit. It's the fit that bothers me since the crown protrudes into the top part of my wrist (I wear my watches on the wrist, as opposed to beneath the wrist bone).

The AP has a little more pizaz then the PP. But the 5726 is such a good watch, it’s more special. But I can understand if your wanting the AP ROC experience, it is amazing.

Really depends on what your looking for but I wouldn’t do it. The PP is timeless. But live in the moment

OP,

I was offered the 26331 IP about 6-8 months ago and turned it down. I LOVE the watch aesthetically --it's easily my favorite ROC dial.

I turned it down b/c I knew it would be a scratch magnet with its platinum links, and I also didn't like the fact that it would be even heavier than the ST.
Value wise, you better love it b/c it won't value close to what your 5726A will.

I recently joined the 5726A club and love this watch as a daily. So comfortable, and I don't give a rat's a** about the people who don't think it's legit b/c it's not on a bracelet, and hopefully neither do you.
I think the 5726 was made for the strap, and I love it on the strap.

Having said all that, if the 26331 IP really speaks to you and your 5726A isn't getting much wrist time, then do it.

I’d pass not a fan of the IP series

No, Never. Nautilus will retain value far better than an AP Chrono.

Also 5726A is a far better watch than 26331, which doesn't even have an in-house movement and a clear case back.

Why would OP trade for an inferior watch? I’d take AC any day a week.

The 5712/5711 feel too light on the wrist - I prefer a bit of heft.

I actually have the blue dial with silver sub-dials ROC - and yes the experience, look, the way it sits on the wrist is all amazing. I love the PP in terms of looks, it just doesn't sit right on my wrist.

Very well said - I think it's great on the strap. Unfortunately it isn't getting the wrist time it should - most probably because of the way the crown digs into the top of my wrist.

Whether of not it is fair is based on how much cash is exchanged. In general, I would do it. I really like that AP. I like PP as well but 5726 not my favorite
