16750 from 1981
Dear All, I'm now to this forum. I'm from Italy and I'm a small Rolex collector. I recently both a 16750 6,6 M Serial number. I'd like to have your opinion about the watch in particular the bezel insert that is blue back. Is it original ? is there any information about the correct timing for watch production with red and/or blue back ? thanks and Regards Valter

The insert is later than 1979 - 1980, which is the era for your watch. It should be a red back insert.
Although no one knows for sure when the blue backs started showing up, it would seem to have been around 1984 and possibly earlier based on my experience and ownership of dozens of original 16750 GMTs.
