For sale is a pre-owned excellent condition unpolished 36mm 18 karat yellow gold Rolex Day-Date 36. The 118238 is a D serial, circa approximately 2005, and is accompanied by a box but no papers. The Rolex features an 18 karat yellow gold case, which is accented by a fluted yellow gold bezel. The Day-Date is mounted on a gold President bracelet, which is secured by a hidden crown clasp. The bracelet contains 3 removable links, and will comfortably fit a 7 inch wrist. The 18 karat yellow gold case and bracelet have acquired a beautiful rose gold oxidation, which the pictures truly don't do justice. The Rolex features a factory set champagne diamond dial with applied single cut and baguette diamond hour markers, polished gold hands, a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock, and a day window aperture at 12 o’clock. The movement used in the 118238 is the Rolex Calibre 3155 which is COSC certified and features approximately 48 hours of power reserve. The 118238 has never been polished, and has spent most of its life locked away in a safe. As a result, the yellow gold case and bracelet have acquired a gorgeously rich rose gold colored oxidation. In addition to the rose gold oxidation, the watch has acquired a stunning purplish blue oxidation on some of its polished accents, which truly adds to the watch’s untouched “barn find” aesthetics. The President bracelet contains no stretch and contains virtually no signs of previous wear. If the absence of bracelet stretch wasn't enough, the 118238 still retains its original Rolex Japan case back sticker. Overall the Rolex is a pristine example of a 118238, which has never been polished, and presents beautifully in natural light due to its rose gold oxidation.
