Service a 5512 Sub?

I’m new to the forum so please excuse my ignorance.
I have a1963 Sub 5512. Gilt script, top underline etc. It is new to me and in very nice condition aside from spider web on face and hour mark flaking.
My question is this;
Should I have it serviced? I know it hasn’t had anything done for at least 25 years.
Bob Ridley suggests replacing the Barrel Bridge, repair balance wheel, Mainspring barrel complete, calibrate tension on bezel, replace case tube, seals, lube, etc.
I have the utmost trust and confidence in Bob, but will having this done negatively impact me if I choose to sell?
Thank you for your opinions.

This is the key question. If you are going to sell, don't invest in the service, since it won't increase the value substantially. Just sell it. If you are going to keep the watch, have the work done.

Agree. If you are going to wear it get these parts replaced. They are consumables.

Spot on from Dan.

If you're just going to sell it on, let the buyer take the service expense.

A service will cost more than it will add to the sale value of the watch.

A properly maintained and repaired watch will not lose any value.

There will always be somebody willing to buy an old watch that has never been cared for, but there isn't a lot of them, and they would not likely pay above the recognized market prices.
