Finally: The SuperOcean Heritage '57 "Black Rainbow"

Originally ordered in April and 5 short months later, it is finally here. And a first for me, #1 out of 250! I didn't even get a chance to take the stickers off yet!
Initial Impressions: Perfectly sized and extremely comfortable with the black calfskin strap and deployant. The concave bezel and raised crystal work really well together and give it a unique look. The bezel itself is bi-directional and extremely smooth (no clicks). The rainbow indices, while not for everyone are both bold and subtle and more appealing in person than in pictures!

Does it say #1 of 250 on the back or “one of 250”? I thought Breitling wasn’t going to number special editions anymore instead just label each watch as “one of XXX” to get away from people requesting numbers.

It says “one of 250” on the watch and on the certificate

As Justin mentioned Breitling is no longer individually numbering pieces. Georges said that it is too much "trouble". No more specific numbers for collectors until Georges decides that it isn't that difficult to accomplish!

got it! so this does not mean one as in the number 1 but just one of the production pieces which happens to amount to 250 in total. who knew

Correct! The last individually numbered watches were the 806 re-edition. The Georges said it was too much trouble. Since then it has been one of xxxx. Even the 765 re-edition is one of xxxx.

Hi all. For those that have owned the Breitling 57' black rainbow, how is it holding up a year later? Still love it?

My AD just got one (used) and offered me a pretty good price on it, but still a couple of thousand above MSRP. They are impossible to find, and I really love the watch, but typically not someone to pay over msrp within a year of a watch coming out...any thoughts welcomed!
