Need help with curved rubber strap....

Hey guys.

Have purchased several curved rubber, original Omega, straps in last couple of weeks.

The leather curved, and fabric curved fit perfectly, and snug.

However, the Orange rubber, along with another rubber strap, both curved and 22mm, have “wiggle” in them.

I’m not sure why there is a difference, except for perhaps the ends are firmer on Leather/Fabric, in how they fit.

I am using just plain and generic spring bars from Amazon. They did not include any Omega spring bars, which I believe are 1.8mm.

Could this cause the movement?

I don’t remember my other POC I had (9300 movement) having this issue.

I have attached pics, and any advice would be awesome.

Thanks!

J

Try Omega OEM springbars and see if that makes a difference. I had issues with a strap on mine and I was using the bracelet springbars instead of the strap springbar which are different from each other - something I did not initially know.

I am probably using the bracelet ones.

Are the stock strap ones 1.8mm or 2.0mm? I think the 2.0mm is what I need for strap. I may have to call my Omega Boutique and find out.

Thanks for the answers guys!

Okay guys, still need some help.

I ordered generic 1.8mm spring bars for the black and orange solid color straps.

Still "flex" as demonstrated above with those straps.

The orange trim/black fabric strap, along the with stock leather with rubber backing, fit perfectly. I am using the original spring bars on the orange fabric and black leather, and they are thinner than the 1.8mm bars.

I don't what i am doing wrong here.

Please advise!

Order an Omega 1.8mm and 2.0mm. Try them both. See which one works.

I have some factory spring bars incoming.

The boutique was out when I ordered.

I am slightly disheartened. Don’t understand why there would be flex.

Thinking about ordering some curved 22mm spring bars on Amazon and seeing if there is a difference.

Are you sure that strap is not for the 9300 version of your watch? I have had both, and the old 9300 rubber straps fit just like that on my 9900. I shimmed it up from the bottom to make it fit... bet that’s the problem you’re having too.

Cheers

This is the problem. LOL.

I didn't realize the casings had changed ever so slightly. I am further irritated that I ordered this from the Boutique and they didn't realize it either.

I gave them my model reference number, so I had assumed that they would have sent the correct one. Now they are saying no returns.

Figures.

Does anyone know the correct part numbers for the 9900 calibre in Orange rubber or Black rubber.

I may use it as an excuse to pick up a gently used 8500 PO.

Or you could do this... kind of a geek solution but it worked for me. From the caseback side of the watch, take some thick paper or thin cardboard and stuff a little piece in the seam between the strap and the case, it’ll make the top aspect of the strap fit snug against the case from the crystal side. Wear it like that for a few days, and if you’re happy with it, get something like some small rubber o-rings and tuck them in beside the paper. If the fit is still good, remove everything and glue the little o-rings to the strap and you’re good. I put two on each side, near the spring bars. If you change your mind they can always be removed with an exacto-blade.

Kind of a hack, but it worked for me. I like the straps for the 9300 better... there’s too much negative curve to the new ones and on my relatively large wrists it looks funny. The old ones are better.

Cheers

I wish I could help you there, but I just picked some out of my tool box until I found some that fit. They are pretty tiny, obviously, and it's better to err on the "slightly too large" side... depends on how handy you are with a sharp blade or dremmel, you can take a hair off if they don't fit. But you want them pretty snug. Sorry I can't help you more on the size!

Cheers
