Go for it, plus easier to match cufflinks.

The PM pieces are special and once you get the want for one the only way most of us get over it is to get one. I don't see an issue with the trade and you will know very quickly if it is for you. Years ago I walked it up form SS Submariner to TT Submariner to TT Daytona to YG Daytona. Was it worth it? Yes and one of the fun things about our hobby is as long as you have the money you can typically get the watch you want. Go for it.

For me it came down to lifestyle. I’ve owned a TT for 17 years and wear it as my daily regardless of where I go or what I do. I would pick a YG up in a heartbeat if i could give it more wrist time than just special occasions.
I went the other way and picked up a new SS in December and am working in how to share wrist time with the 2.
I know many feel the TT is a bit blingy for a daily, but I’ve never found that to be the case.

Love the bluesy in both forms, TT and full gold. The TT is my absolute favorite TT model, and the gold is my favorite YG watch.

I look at it this way...I could be perfectly content with either, but if I'm in a position to go full 18k, I'm doing it.

The YG sub is a fantastic piece! I’d do that trade in a minute!
But..for me, I’d have to have a SS piece to go along with it. I personally wouldn’t want an all YG as my only watch, and I wouldn’t wear my G-Shock or fitness watch as a daily either.

I traded a two tone serti dial and a couple of other prized SS sports to get mine and have zero regrets.

For those who have gone for the full YG sub, did you always keep the same dial color? Eg. Two tone blue dial to full gold blue dial, two tone black dial to full gold black dial? The black is so classy and versatile but the blue is so bold and beautiful - hard decision!

I had the blue dial two tone and a black dial sub. I ended up with a full gold black sub because when I had them..I wore the black sub more. It goes with anything and less look at me.

Yes it is noticeably more heavy than TT or SS. But when on the wrist, you don't think about it. They need to be sized snug or else it will flop all over the place.

Not a single regret.

I always preferred the look of the TT bluesy in pictures, in the case, and on strangers. Had one for about a month and for what ever reason looking down at my wrist it just didn’t make me smile the way I thought it would. So I traded it and some cash for a full gold blue dial. Not sure why as I still prefer the way the TT photographs and wears on other people. Absolutely love wearing the full gold. The weight is noticeable. It and the TT Bluesy are not as flashy wearing as I would have thought. Try one on. You will know if its meant to be. Some watches may come and go but for me my 5 digit ND and my gold sub will stay with me for no good reason other than I love em.

They only regret I have is the TT Bluesy’s crown was indexed perfectly.

I also had a black face submariner and found I always wore it due to its versatility. Loved the bluesy but in some cases I couldn’t wear it. I traded both and a little cash for the black gold sub. I wear the gold sub constantly now because it goes along with anything.

I’ve traded SS and/or TT for PM. The first time I did it, the PM was my only watch.

I like to have a SS, too. Only way I would trade up is if I had another SS watch to alternate. I would not want the PM to be my only piece. That YG Blue sub is amazing.

GO FOR IT! SEND IT!

Once you go PM, you never go back. It is the best thing to wake up and put on everyday.

Don't forget, if you do it, you will have a GRAIL watch, no doubt. Danny, have you given the smurf a whirl? Just sayin'...

One distinct advantage the sub has over the DD is the glide lock clasp, vs. zero adjustability in the president bracelet. When the bracelet is full gold, this is even more of a factor.

I’m with this as well. I’ve got an 8” wrist which fluctuates quite a bit from season to season, and from hot to cold during the same day. It’s a real curse as I almost always need extra links. Having to swap (very expensive) links to adjust the fit would be irritating, and with full gold, getting the right fit is crucial with the extra weight.

For an 116618LB, I would probably trade in the blue version but not the black. Having both in blue seems a little redundant and it would be nice to have some yellow gold in both colors to change it up a little. Also, I want an 116618LB, but I wouldn't trade in my black 116613LN because I'm keeping my discontinued Diamond Dial.

Trading 2 tone subLb for solid gold

I was actually just talking with a TS that I may be interested in the trade up plus cash for the 13lb to the 18lb. For those that have done it, was your trade in value something you found beneficial? Or would you have been better served selling your 13 first?

I’d be going TS for the 18lb.

All ceramic models as well
