Rolex Prince in AD Paris

Hi all, I have never seen a Prince before and knew very little about them. I was also surprised to see a secondhand watch in the display case at a AD that sold only new watches. Have any of you owned or seen a Prince around?

Only ever saw one in the wild. Yellow gold, display case back; beautiful movement. Very Art-Deco type design. Actually looked great in yellow gold.

It’s the Cellini Prince. I have always liked them. The Cellini designs are quite different now (classic round case).

It would be a cool pick up for a collector.

Thanks for the heads up, It certainly one of their busier dials, Being in Paris it gave me the air of "Cartier" style.

Nice. Have seen the Cellini prince in person before and it looks nice in RG. It also has a display caseback and I believe it’s Rolex first display caseback.

Yep. My Rolex ad recently had 3 of them. All new old stock and were all new watches but had to be moved over to estate section of store. Was discontinued years ago. Plenty of discount on them for sure. They recently actually sold two of them to customer bundled with ss Daytona. Not sure discount he got on them. Used market for then run 7-8 k us$.

It hasn't been that long since the Prince was discontinued.

My AD had one back in about 2008-2009.
Sadly, the Cellini Prince was discontinued for the second time in 2015.

Sure if I could flip it and make some money. If I had to keep it and couldn't sell it then no. I would have no use for it.

Must be the same one I saw there late last year. Looks like they can’t shift it - unusual piece to see in an AD and hand wound if I’m not mistaken. Caught my eye for sure.

when I zoomed in I was a little surprised at the price considering it is scratched up a bit.
