Opinion on ROO 26470ST movement

Hi all,

I have always loved the Offshore Navy 26470ST. Pic below. Wanting to add it to my collection but concerned about the movement. Heard it has reliability issues and is known to break more so often.. So, would appreciate your feedback and personal experiences with ROO Navy that will help me make an educated decision.

If any issues with the movement, would it be fixed in a full service? Also, how much is AP charging these days for a full service?

Thanks,
PS

Hi:

I have the safari version of this watch and brought it for service less than one year ago. They swapped the movement to an upgraded version that is more reliable and apparently has better power reserve. The service cost was a bit more than $3k cad.

Thanks for response. That’s helpful. Just curious … Did you take it to service because of any issues with the watch or because of the age of the watch and was due for service ?

Because of the age and it started to have some power reserve issues.

My brother had this exact piece brand new since 2015 and never had any issues. Never been serviced either.

Thanks! Good to know that not all have issues.

I sent mine in to the AP service center in Clearwater for the warranty year extension service check. AP did the module upgrade then. There was a nominal charge I recall. Haven’t had any problem with reliability since then, or before for that matter.
