Grab the damn thing while you can. owning one makes it far easier to put a deal together later.

Whatever you do, don't get the black. It's horrific. I can't even look at it, have to avert my eyes...

Buy it and enjoy. The white will come around, may as well enjoy another in the mean time.

They look washed out to me ... Pass all day long on white dial . The Black Dial is truly stunning. I’ve even tried a few white on . Didn’t do anything for me . |

I would get the black. If you don’t bond with it, trade it for a white

If you have your heart set on white then you have to wait. I had the opposite situation, as I was offered the white first and chose to wait for the black (which came three weeks later). It is a matter of opinion, but the black is a much better looking watch. The contrast in the white from bezel to face, face to subdial rings and rings to subdial is too stark. The black is much more cohesive and sleek. I have never regretted my decision.

Buy the black, use it for a while, then check with RSC if they'll swap the dial for you to white.
If they will, it'll cost you a few hundred bucks and chances Rolex will keep the black dial, but at least you'll get what you want. PS I did this with my older, non-ceramic Daytona. |

Here's the logic 1. It's an opp to get a Daytona in the SS drought. 2. Develop more relationship with the AD. 3. Can still tell AD you want the white as well. (or other piece if you don't like daytona +X months from now) |

I prefer the black dial personally. I liked the white dial on the steel bezel Daytona but once they made the update I think the contrast is too much from black bezel to white dial now.

I prefer white to black dials, it's such a timeless colour that goes with absolutely any wardrobe colour. I am not sure I can say the same for black. |

Tough question for me. I think the white looks amazing in pictures but would prefer black on my wrist 100%. Not even sure I’d want the white. I’d take it if I was you. If you prefer the white, this is like any other comparison / opinion thread. Never settle, get what you want.

Thank you all for you’re comments, very helpful. One trend in thought I’m hearing is the black visually looks better overall because the colors flow; whereas the white has too many breaks and contrasts. As a result the white is not as versatile a piece. I never thought about the versatility aspect. When does the white NOT fit with an outfit or style as well as the black? Yes people wear their Rolexes with everything, but sometimes one is a “better match” for what you’re wearing. Sounds like the black is universal, but when is the white not a good fit? Maybe I need to start a different thread to address this specific question.
Anyway, I appreciate everyone’s options, extremely helpful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wearing my white dial today. To me, the white dial is very sleek and sporty. I don’t feel comfortable wearing it in a more formal setting (like a suit or sport coat), nor do I feel comfortable wearing it with my typical casual get-up (chukkas, flannels, chinos, etc). If you tend to dress more athletic/athleisure, then the white dial would go great IMHO. I feel like that black dial, tho, goes with much more. While it’s still a sporty chrono, for some reason in my eyes the black dial doesn’t contrast as much with more formal or casual looks. IDK, I’m not a fashion influencer or all #menswear lol, but just my opinion. |
