Did you come down to 4 from a larger collection or is that the most you've had at the same time? Trying to understand your reasoning.

I have personally grown disenchanted with so many watches. I'm in the process of trading 7 Rolex pieces for a 5980 Patek blue dial. I guess my collection just grew too large over time.

No regrets whatsoever in moving from Rolex, Panerai, Omega, etc. to PP and AP. I still may buy a Rolex at some point, but it's far down the list.

I did have about 8 at one stage , and only 3 really got wrist time so decided to reduce down but go better quality or trade up , and touch wood I'm in a happy place at the moment , and all watches get worn and enjoyed

And for sure no regrets. I honestly can’t believe it’s happening.
Major Congrats! Blue or White Dial? Did you sell these back to them for what you paid or are they paying what a grey would and only making a few k? Either way you win and the AD does also because they cant sell the Naut for over list but can obviously sell your preowned pieces for over. Had you opted to keep your two pieces would they have sold to you as just an isolated purchase?

With regards of consolidating into the 5711... I’d do that
There's also 28 to 31 days in a month.

Blue dial! I sold them back for a bit less than I could have gotten otherwise, but still more than I paid. As you said, it was a win-win. And no I don’t think that they would have sold me the 5711 without the trade.

That s what i think ,i m enjoy 5 at the moment but my plan to go 4 ,on the other hand the watches “should”go making at least 10% annual so might be my idea isn t brilliant at all.

No regrets because I haven’t done it

I can’t imagine getting rid of some of my watches to get into Patek. If I can’t afford outright I’m not buying it

This thread reminds me I have 16710 sitting in a safe. It doesn't get any wrist time since I got the 5711 almost 8 years ago. No comparison. It's simple, elegant and superior in comfort. It was also under the radar at time.

I found I had too many similar sport Rolex. Once I tried on the 5711 and 5167 I knew I made the right decision.

Now keeping a balance of 2 Rolex and 2 PP. Perfect for me!

Consolidation is not simply affordability, but there’s a practical aspect too. If someone buys a Patek, there’s a good chance that the lower end ones won’t get any more wrist time. So selling or trading just makes sense.

I am at a steady 8 now and often contemplate selling some. Still not at the point where I am ready to part with any and only one I really want to add. If that happens, I may sell a couple for the upgrade. Until then, I am good and most are worn. One may go, the Hulk, I never wear it.
